CREAM Coffeeshop is the first place I went into when I was visiting the downtown Norwich area. I love the outdoor seating area on the street that is available to customers. It's proximity to other important areas in the city make it easily accessible.
This coffeeshop has the feel of a Third Space, an area where people can go to that is not their home or work, a place where community can be built through personal interaction and organized collective activities. My sense was that CREAM has some level of involvement in the community, and that's pretty cool!
Upon visiting, I asked the barista what was their recommendation, and they made me a blueberry vanilla iced latte. Now, I am not one for a sweet and iced coffee concoction, but this one was good. The fragrance was a big part of what makes a drink stand out, and the blueberry aroma was definitely observable. I enjoyed that it was sweet, but not as sweet as some franchised coffee shops around here.
They had food items for sale, including baked goods, but there did not seem to be many gluten-free options when I briefly checked for them. I may have to edit this review upon my next visit to CREAM, though.
CREAM also seems like it could be a good place to do a little work, not take up a whole table for 3 whole hours while you conduct a focus group online (I have been guilty of this.) It is also a great place to catch up with friends. I think there is a little bit of something for everybody here, and I am definitely...
Read moreThis is only my second time visiting, and I am absolutely and completely satisfied with everything.
The music and atmosphere always has a chill vibe which immediately calmed some of my stress walking in today.
They use Craftsman Cliff coffee and espresso, which is 10 times better quality you will get from anywhere else in a 5 mile radius.
The staff was lovely and kind, and also incredibly polite to a very chatty and long-winded customer that was before me. I have a lot of respect for young service workers who hold space and have patience for socially unaware/awkward folks.
I was completely exhausted today and could not decide a flavor for myself. When I asked them for suggestions, they were kind and open, not at all impatient or annoyed.
TLDR; The prices are less expensive than the chain corporations in town, the quality is better, and the...

I was in and ordered a cinnamon bun and cold brew-the cinnamon bun was cold and the frosting came on the side with no way to warm it up. When spreading, it goes on like cream cheese (gross texture) and the bun itself was cold and not fresh. The cashier told me they didn’t have an oven which would have resolved everything. Get a small toaster oven and these issues go away.
Also, the cold brew was more like iced tea-could use a bit more color/be less opaque.
The saving grace was that the cashier was very friendly and very accommodating. Would try again but hopefully they take this...
