Grounded Baking — Restaurant in Norwich

I've always made my own birthday cake. I don't trust other people, because usually I end up with a gritty, overly sugary cake OR something fully dark chocolate and WAY too bitter

Anna makes her cakes somewhere in between, which is absolutely amazing! She's also the best decorator I know!

I used to make a big deal about baking my own cake every year... until I tried Grounded Baking's cakes!!

My birthday is in October, so I tend to go for a gothic/Halloween themed cake and she ALWAYS gives me something fun and SO beautiful I don't even want to cut it up lmao!!

I always order a red velvet, chocolate ganache cake and I CANNOT RECOMMEND HER ENOUGH. I'm VERY particular about the cakes I eat, and it's especially hard to find a good ganache cake, but hers are SO good! She's the ONLY person I've actually paid to make my own cake in my almost 30 years!

Up until I found her bakery, I actually COMPLETELY REFUSED to order a cake from a bakery! Now I can't get enough!!

I ordered a cake from her 2 birthdays ago (so this will be the third birthday since my first order) and I STILL regret not reaching out to her for my cake last year! I have to search for pictures of the first cake, I'll post them if I find them

This year, though, I couldn't even wait for my birthday and ordered a SECOND cake early on my own lol!!

This time, she gave me a black frosted cake with SUPER glittery sprinkle decorations! It reminds me of dragon or mermaid scales! Last time it was a black frosted cake with red and white chocolate skulls on the top! And I'm SO EXCITED to see this years' birthday cake! I tend to give her a good amount of room to be flexible and creative in her own right, but it's ALWAYS a goth/Halloween theme

AND IT'S SO HEAVY, TOO LOL!! I should have weighed the cake before I cut into it because it's crazy heavy from the ganache lol I'd say it weighs around 10 pounds or so, if I had to guess

I literally cannot recommend ordering from Grounded Baking's products enough!!! It's the ONLY bakery I'm willing to recommend at all - they're my go to for every occasion!!!
