Philly's — Restaurant in Norwich

I started to write reviews because I hated going to a new station and not knowing where to go for a good meal and…. off to google-- to search for a place to eat. I am not a vegan and enjoy all foods from all cultures, of course there are things I won't try twice. Reviewing: Philly's 33 Sherman St, Norwich, CT 06360 ✰How long is the wait? My wait time was minimum, I went on a Sunday - early afternoon. ✰The dress code. Dress code is something that some restaurants take seriously -- This is like going to a sports bar 'kinda'… Dress like you are going to casino or comfortable is a better word. ✰The atmosphere. - Well the sitting area I was in, is a new addition to the original restaurant. ✰Is it kid-friendly: Yes it is but I did not take my children with me. ✰Is it dark: No. the restaurant is well lit and the restaurant has bright colors that pop. ✰Is it clean: The floors were clean. I was actually amazed at that… Some restaurants lack quick attention to spills and kid oopses ✰Restroom: I did not enter the facilities but if its anything like the rest of the restaurant I can only guess A+

✰✰✰ The Meal: First let me start with saying that the aroma of the food was amazing. This was my first time at this establishment so I normally ask what is the "Signature item/ dish": The Philly/20oz Drink (price $7.50/$2.00 Jan2014) This Philly Cheesesteak was stacked no skimping allowed here. The side order of Buffalo Chicken Fries (price $7.50 Jan2014) was outstanding in flavor and good-sized portion. What it is-- basically fries, crispy buffalo chicken pieces, drizzled in buffalo sauce, and ranch dressing.

✰✰✰The service: The people at PHILLY's were polite, helpful and friendly. Hell they even came around, cleaned our table and offered desert "on-the-house" (Phried Philly Bread).

✰✰✰✰✰Overall / Conclusion: My experience with this restaurant was a ++POSITIVE++ one. I have to say that "IT IS THE BEST PHILLY CHEESESTEAK made" - "BAR NONE" The only way I could see making an improvement would be placing a few more BIGGER TV's, I only say that because I walked in during a football game and I got hooked up in the game. Ordered through door dash for 3rd time here today 10/19. I know door dash is the middle man but when an order is placed it offers instructions on howd you like the sandwich for ex. No onions, no mushrooms. Today I ordered (2) two sandwiches both a classic cheese steak but both were requested without mushrooms and/or onions. This is the second time I've spent money here at this establishment and had my order wrong. Door dash does not rectify the issue, but at the same time they shouldn't when the instructions on the order ticket on what ingredients to add or not add. I don't know if it's a case of I make minimum wage so I shouldn't put effort into making the sandwich or whatever. Nonetheless the order total was approximately 50$. I'm not made of money but I do order out from time to time because I can and tonight I decided to order here. I understand placing a 1 star rating might be excessive, but it's a business they have a product they sell and in exchange recieve currency for their product. Tonight I provided money for a product that I received and it was incorrect. Second time I've had an issue. Food quality is delicious but as for attention to detail I'm just a little disappointed, That I now have to order out again or make food due to an avoidable mistake of adding ingredients. Very high priced for a sub par Philly Steak Hoagie. I asked for provolone along with the whiz cheese, however the server brought it out and it only had provolone. Also asked for mayonnaise on my hoagie with onions and peppers. Did not get that either. I didn't say anything about this. I just ate the food. After eating the Steak Hoagie, I realized that the taste of the meat was good. However for the overall size and dryness of the hoagie, it was not worth it. My side of wings came in a plastic take home container. Atomic wings give me the impression that they are hot.. These wings are so hot, and no one told me there were ghost peppers in them until after the fact when I started to have an asthma attack, which I do have asthma, in the parking lot from breathing in and out because my mouth is in extreme pain. Originally told me it was Habanero which is something I can handle. Sadly, I wont be returning to this place and feel that I was overcharged 15 out of the 48 dollars I paid to this...
