The people couldn’t have been nicer. Brought my family from the other side of town to try the food. Called first to make sure they were open because I had seen on their FB page that they were having air conditioning issues a couple days ago. Talked to the owner when I called, very pleasant man, and he assured me they were open despite the issues. Ordered 4 sandwiches and two orders of fries (regular and AJ’s style) and drinks. Fries were well cooked and seasoned. Got regular Philly cheesesteak sandwiches for all of us. About $65 before tip. Unfortunately, in my opinion, the meat/cheese to bread ratio was way off. I thought the flavors were there, but there simply wasn’t enough on the sandwich to keep the bread from being dry. I’m not saying it needs to be over flowing with meat and cheese, but it also shouldn’t be over powered by the roll it’s on. I don’t know if the portions are pre-weighed before cooking or what, but all 4 sandwiches we ordered were definitely very skimpy on the meat and cheese. I’ll give it another try next time I’m out that way in the hopes that I just caught them on a bad day. They did end up closing while we were there because of said air conditioning issue. Like others have said, the dine in option is very limited as there are only about 3 tables. I would recommend just ordering ahead and carrying out considering the limited seating, no AC currently and a very...

AJ’s Cheesesteak: A Love Story in Madisonville

I bit in and heard angels sing. A single tear rolled down my cheek. I think I fell in love.
The only downside is I now dream about cheesesteaks at inappropriate times, like work meetings and dentist appointments. Totally worth it.
AJ’s, you’re my hero. Madisonville, consider...
Read moreThe cheese steak was nothing special. Tbh it wasn't good. I traveled a while because of how many people hyped it up and it flat out wasn't worth it. I think the people who loooooove it have no real reference for a philly. The amaroso roll was good but in the end that's all the philly had going for it. I threw half of a large away... I've never done that cheese steak before and it speaks volumes about it. I'd put it on par with the current great steak cheese steak not the iconic one of the 90's. I'd have rather of went to penn station. There is no where to dine in. I spent about 30 bucks on 2 cheese steaks and an order of fries. I kinda liked the fries but my...
