Hello everyone, I’d like to draw your attention to the irony and deflection of Marci’s response to my honest review. I am a strong supporter of small businesses and often post 5-star reviews for businesses and individuals who earn that praise. In fact, I recently posted a 5-star review for Qwench in West Roxbury.
Respect begets respect. I stand by everything in my review, because the bottom line is, Marci was incredibly disrespectful, condescending, and unprofessional… when I was simply asking her to explain menu items. It’s like I was a major inconvenience to her. Like I also shared, all the other staff I observed were fantastic and very pleasant and kind toward customers. The ladies who made the bowls were very nice and helpful. Another woman at the counter was very pleasant as well, but Marci had a weird vibe and attitude.
It is rather strange to me that she would preach respect when she showed no respect herself to a customer, especially a new customer, hence the irony and deflection. It can be easy to take customers for granted, which is why I truly value the professionals who always remember it is customers who drive the business. I am grateful for platforms like these to hold unprofessional behavior accountable.
I am hopeful she will see this as a teaching moment and lean on her staff and other business professionals to significantly improve her customer service and people skills.

I was very excited to come to this place with my mom today to get Acai bowls. I had come here once before on my own to get a smoothie. That was delicious and the customer service was great. However, today was a different experience. When I went up to the counter to order, I told Marci I would like two Acai bowls. Turns out I have to fill out an order form, which is perfectly fine, but Marci had a blatant sour attitude about it, as if I should have known the routine. When I asked about the base and ingredients, because it’s not listed clearly anywhere (like choosing up to 10 toppings), she was visibly annoyed and had a clear attitude about having to explain something that wasn’t clear to a non-regular. This was quite off-putting and came off condescending.
As for the Acai bowls, the women who made them were very pleasant and the bowls looked beautiful. As for the taste, the blueberry base is extremely bitter. It was like crushed Tylenol. I learned it’s frozen blueberries with no added sugar, but still, the bitter taste was really intense. The Acai base was much more delicious, although on the dry/thicker/pasty side.
My family enjoys this place for smoothies and Acai bowls and they have done pickup orders before. But again, this was my second time here and the customer service was really lacking from Marci and I personally won’t be ordering the...
Read moreThe food is good, but this place has really gone down hill in the past couple years. 4 years ago I could get an acai bowl with granola on the top and bottom of my bowl with no extra charge for $10. Now a bowl is $13 and you get a measly scoop of granola. I use to rave about this place but personally I think there is no reason for their prices to go up that much in such a short amount of time. This place is unfortunately no longer worth it.
Edit: I appreciate your response, however it does not make a lot of sense and I am simply pointing out facts. I understand inflation occurs however inflation has only risen about 22.5% since 2020, and your prices have increased by at least 33%. That is a fact. You cannot lie to your customers and say portions have not changed when they have, I am willing to put photos below of my older acai bowls showing granola on the top AND bottom for no extra charge. I understand it is hard for small businesses, but it is not ok to lie to your customers. And for the record, I am pleased to hear you can afford an $18 sandwich for your son, but to use the excuse that because you can afford high priced food for yourself means you get to charge others high prices is quite...
Read moreI've been there several times with my Partner. We've had a bad experience every time the owner attended to us. She is friendly until she realizes my partner is Brazilian, (the owner is also Brazilian). Suddenly, we're not really worth her time, we would go here to send money to our sick relative in Brazil, they can't work because of their illness. We would also occasionally order food too. But not any more. When we would tell her we needed to send money she would sort of huff and tell us to go wait by the window, her whole demeanor and attitude would change versus her attending to any other customer. Overall, she acts like she's doing us a favor and we should be grateful. We've spoken to other Brazilians in the community and they feel the same. We've also noticed that she can be extremely rude to her employees. We just feel like that is not a good work environment. If you want good Brazilian food go to Miranda Bread in Stoughton, the staff is kind and attentive, the food is actually good and reasonably priced!
The problem is not the staff... it’s...
