Shockingly bad food and incredibly rude management. Granted we had not been here in a few years but we never expected the disaster we encountered upon trying to eat here! Most of the food was simply not edible. The starter bread was warm and the dip was good. But the meal was all downhill from there. Our crab cake appetizer had no detectable crabmeat in it. My lobster roll was completely disgusting--freezer burn, stringy, rubbery and desiccated--dry as dust! But before I could complain, a companion at the table had to send back a sirloin steak that was as thin as a breakfast steak and so overcooked it was GRAY inside. It was tasteless and had a strange consistency like it had been left too long in the tenderizer----almost like leathery liver. Yikes! Totally inedible! The waitress went to get a new one while the mashed potatoes got cold. The new steak arrived and it was better, though nowhere near the quality of a $20 steak. Then things went from very bad to much worse. The owner came to our table. He actually yelled at us about the steak. He said it was a great steak, a $20 steak, did we know the price of steak?!! He yelled this right in my companion's face, almost nose to nose! It was shocking! He grabbed the old steak along with the cold mashed potatoes and stormed off. The food was horrendous but the owner's hostility and aggression bordered on assault. We were stunned but quickly told him to back off and get away from us. And we meant it too because I was about to call the police if he didn't. We were in shock. We could not choke down another bite. A few minutes later, the waitress came to tell us there was no charge for the meal. Which was exactly what the meal was worth. Nothing! As we left I handed the waitress her tip and sternly advised her that she really needed to look for another job somewhere else! Do not go to the Olde Colonial Cafe unless you want to be threatened and bullied into eating horrible...

Had a Lobster casserole that was outstanding, but seeing he asked had him reheat that a little too, he wanted to replace the whole dish?? Bottom line the food was excellent, service was beyond good, Kim kept apologizing, she gave us a bottle of wine on her and dessertā¦.Those kind of things don't happen anymore..Were always quick to criticize, but always hesitant about complimentsā¦.Thanks Lisa for making a fun night more...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe recently held a memorial luncheon at the OCC. Paul the manager, and the staff were tremendous. They were empathetic to our situation and sincere. Paul was so easy to work with. Reviewing the specifics of the event could not have been simpler. Paul and the staff were super accommodating, warm, and inviting to us and our guests. The menu selections were great, satisfying a wide range of palates. The food was excellent. The venue, originally a firehouse, was spotless with lots of character. Our guests raved about the experience. I cannot think of anything which needed improvement. I highly recommend the OCC for your next event. Well done...
