Stopped by Ming Yen on Grant Ave the other day; rather spontaneously, just as they were opening for dinner. Had some pot sticker dumplings and some spring rolls. Delicious! Fresh, crispy, full of flavor. Oh so yummy! The pot stickers were done just right. Was offered a free bowl of hot & sour soup while waiting. Was so delicious and gratifying. I will have to go back and try the orange chicken. Or perhaps will try the Peking Duck. Service was excellent! Located on Grant Ave, on the corner at Seventh St. Plenty of parking. Street parking is available. Yet know that it’s a very busy section of Grant Ave. Also, the 49 Novato Transit bus stops close by.

We absolutely love going to Ming Yen! Since moving here 4 years ago, it has become our celebration restaurant, and the only Chinese food we’ll eat in town. Our latest visit, a couple of days ago, was especially excellent. We learned about some wonderful changes and we’re very happy for the restaurant, and for our future dining tbh. It was all over the top delicious! The beef was so tender and flavorful, and the green bean dish was unexpectedly amazing. All exceeded our already high expectations! Which adds to the fantastic customer service. We always feel so welcome and at home when we dine here. Congrats and blessings for an awesome 2025!!

Went in for the lunch special, which unfortunately you can't order additional sides or add any add ons. Settled for the Mongolian beef with fried rice. The beef was the star of the dish, while the rice left me desiring more. Hot and sour soup was loaded with pepper or salt and made it difficult to eat. Had about half as set it aside. Overall, ok if you're craving chinese for lunch. Would probably try the spot down the street next time for comparison.

i dont care how other customers rated this restaurant but i surely will not recommanded this restaurant to anyone. i had to share my experience with this restaurant, its not about the chef or the other waiter or waitress that work there , but this individual person name Peggy. Rude as hell.. We are not the regular, we dont live in this little town call Novato, we were just passing thru and it was kinda late, so we decided to stop at this litlle restaurant call Ming Yen we found in google because it was just on our way home. We walk in at 830pm 30 min prior to closing time at 9pm. Another older lady seated us and told us.. we close at 9 hurry order, it already make me feel uncomfortable at this very moment.. she left and this lady name Peggy approached us and took our order, my niece said i want A11, Peggy immediately said.. WHAT IS A11, SAY WHAT YOU WANT..I DONT KNOW WHAT A11 IS..i look at her and i say nothing . My husband asked me what i want to order, i said nothing, i just said i just lost my appetide, i dont want to order anything. .i didnt want to make any comment at the moment till we get our food. She set our plates and napkins with attitude, she brought the 2 soup over with attitude. after her there were an older gentleman brought the rest of the food, he's very nice, not like Peggy. after we ate, asked her for container for our left over, she was going to take our food to the back and pack it up but i said, actually can you bring me the container and i will pack them myself. When she brought the box and bag to our table she slammed the boxes on the table, seriously does not look good at all, so i approached her to pay for our food i asked her who is the owner, she immediatley said ME, I AM THE OWNER.. i said well.. if you are the owner, i know its along day for you but i want you to know that you have been very rude serving us the moment we walk in... she turn toward me with fiercely look on her face said... YOU RUDE TOO.. Me with a smile.. me? what did i do.. she said I CAN BE RUDE TO ANYONE I WANT. POINTED TO THE SIGN..that said.. (We refused the right to service anyone)..WELL she didnt refused service to us when we walked in. Long STORY SHORT, she was yelling back and forth at my husband the whole time we walk out the door. Thank god i only pass thru the town. I should've walk out and grab fast food probably tasted better with a better...

If you ever cross this little restaurant in Navoto, don’t ever go support them. We came thru town and found this little restaurant in The midtown of Navato..Peggy is our waitress who took our order. We walk in 30 min before closing at 9pm. She’s so rude to begin with, we sat and she walk up to us and said we closed at 9 hurry order in a very deride tone of voice, Once she took our order, We said A11.. her response was ..what A1I, I don’t know what A11.. my wife was so upset she didn’t want to order anything or say anything till we get our food. After we eat. When she brought our food she even slammed the bowls of soup on the table as well. Safter we ate the wife went to pay and ask her who the owner is, she said she’s the owner. My wife said if you’re the owner, I know it’s a long day for you but I want you to know that you are very rude serving us. She argued with my wife and said I only rude to you.. the wife said what did we do? We walk in and you’re already rude to begin with. Peggy said I don’t care. I dont know if she really is the owner or just a person who works there, I hope the owner of Ming Yen restaurant read my post and train this individual person to better serve her customer. Another older gentleman brought us our food after her. he was very nice and sweet I didn’t get his name. The wife intention was to ask for owner and tell the owner what’s going on and she will tip the server to shame her for her bad services but instead she said she’s the owner.. so she ain’t getting tip for her...

First time and Last I come here. We came yesterday for lunch. The food was very hot, you get a good portion size and it was good. The price was affordable. My only issue is with the customer service. The older man was at the computer and on the phone and had us waiting to be seated for a good 5 minutes. The wait was not good because we had 1 person with an injury so 5 minutes of waiting standing up is an eternity. The older lady working there came out of the kitchen and asked us how many? We told her multiple time's and at the 3rd time she got it. We sat at the table and it took again a while to get the menus, drinks, I asked the man for lemon and he litteraly brought out 1 big slice just for me when we had 3 waters. We asked for a straws he only brought 1 and asked for more. Only 2 of the 3 in our group ate and the man kept coming over at least 5 time's to ask if we had ordered what we ordered. At the end of our meal i asked the lady for a box and she got one but for a different table. I asked the man for the check. I put my finger up or hand calling him over and he said something in chinese and copied my hand movement like he was upset or annoyed and then got the check. The lady brings two boxes and a bag but by this point i was already just wanting to leave. They treat their regular customers very well and they didn't treat us the same which made this dinning experience distasteful. Customer service alone made this...
