Be prepared for incompetence. I love Five Guys food, and though I know that this location (Mililani, HI) is never fast and I always get shorted on fries, sometimes you just have a craving... but today was the worst experience I have had. I waited to have my order taken. I left while they were preparing my order, went to another place to order a drink, came back and they still didn’t have my order ready. They got one milkshake done and then realized they were out of cream so I had to wait for the other two, so my first milkshake was melted by the time the other two were done. I asked for extra fries for my wait (I asked they didn’t even bother offering) and they didn’t have any in the fryer so then I waited for that, then the salt shaker wasn’t working so they went back to the back to get a new one. When he went to the back I just left and decided that it wasn’t worth the wait for extra fries. I use to eat at five guys at least once a week. Since moving here and going to this location I eat here once a month if even because I couldn’t stand how slow they are. After tonight I’m going to try and avoid this location. Like I said sometimes you just have a craving, but they aren’t the only restaurant in the plaza. So if you go, the food is okay, but the service is incompetent! So...
Read moreWe were so excited to try this place out. It was one of the first locations to open on the island and the lines were crazy. So my office decided that it was going to order online and then just pick up. It actually worked out really well.
When we got the food back to the clinic, and I finally got to bite into these sought after burgers…. I was slightly disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, the burger was a GOOD burger, but for me it wasn’t as good as Teddy’s. Maybe it’s the seasoning in the meat or how they cook it, but I just prefer Teddy’s.
The burger itself was juicy and the toppings were fresh. The fries were decent too and I enjoyed the Cajun seasoning on them.
I thought they were a bit pricier than Teddy’s but didn’t offer much to me that would compensate the difference in price.
I might give these guys another go in the future as my hubby is a burger lover, but I...
Read moreNot normally one to use commonly used vernaculars like m'eh, but sadly this is the best way to describe my bacon cheeseburger. It was m'eh. Nothing terrible but nothing great with a distinct lack of flavour that was somewhat assisted by the salt I added post cook.
The venue was clean and we loved the friendly banter from the guys behind the counter, but even the free peanuts and knowledge that the potatoes you were eating that day were sourced from Idaho did not detract from the fact that the burger was, well I'll say it again - M'eh.
But there is one saving grace that would even have me make a return trip to Mililani, and that was the milkshake. Oh so creamy, thick and flavoursome and I love that you can do mix ins at no extra cost. This trip was a banana milkshake but I need to make the salted caramel milkshake part of my...
