Since moving to the island, Kava Queen Kava Bar has become my absolute favourite place to bring friends and family. I’ve been a repeat customer more times than I can count, and every visit is better than the last. From the moment you step in, you’re greeted with the warmest aloha. The atmosphere is so welcoming and friendly, it feels like coming home.
The kava is absolutely delicious—easily the best I’ve ever had. Whether you’re a seasoned kava drinker or trying it for the first time, you’ll be hooked after just one sip. But what really sets this place apart is the incredible owner. She is so kind, inviting, and truly embodies the spirit of the island. You come in as a customer, but you leave as ohana.
Kava Queen Kava Bar is more than just a place to relax; it’s a community and an experience I’m so grateful to share with the people I care about. I couldn’t recommend it enough!

Read moreKava Queen Kava Bar is one of mine and my family’s favorite spots to hang on the North Shore.
Ava, the owner, is super warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable about all things Kava (although you should talk to her about something else, because I’m sure she gets sick of talking about Kava all night). She does an amazing job creating a warm vibe in the silo, and even welcomes my two baby girls to her bar at night.
The space itself is rad. It’s in the Silos at the Waialua Sugarmill, and both Ava and the owners of Mele Mele have put a lot of heart and soul into renovating the space. Nothing is better than enjoying a kava while the sun is setting at the silos.
On the North Shore, we don’t really “go out” at night much, so this is the exact community gathering spot we all needed! Mahalo...
Read moreMy friend and I stopped into Kava Queen while cruising around North Shore out of curiosity, since neither of us had heard of Kava before. The owner is one of nicest people I’ve ever met and made the whole experience all the more amazing. She took the time to explain not only the origins of Kava and why/what it’s used for, but also a ton of cool history about the old sugar mill the shop now inhabits. Kava had me feeling amazingly mellow, which is exactly what I needed. It was so fun we drove back up the next day and bought more to share with friends. The next time I’m on the island, I’m building in an extra day to go back up and chill with...
