Typical Applebee's, food is consistent and at a good value, but service can be hit or miss depending on the day. I do want to note for this experience, I had ordered a Burger and a Chicken Parmigiana with Alfredo sauce as it was part of a 2 for 25 dollar promotion. Typically I go to Applebee's just for the Ribletts, and truth be told at around 17 dollars they are quite overpriced, but it saves me the time and hassle of doing it myself. This time I went different that typical and it was worth it. The burger was incredibly large flavor full (it was a little spicy but I like that) and it was fresh, assembled and presented very well. I am very impressed by the value as well as the quality of the burger. Worth every cent. However the chicken Parmigiana was what intrigued me most. I have been to many Italian restaurants in the area and we have some great ones, but have always been completely disappointed with every order of this dish. Somehow Applebee's, a national chain not known for Italian food pulls off a full size chicken breast over 6 ounces and about 2 inch thick breaded and cooked perfectly. It felt like I time traveled back to the early 90s where you are at a local Italian family owned restaurant and they are serving huge plates of food for what you thought at the time was "expensive" at 10 dollars, but has ingrained your mind of what a perfect chicken Parmigiana looks and tastes like forever
Fast forward 30 years later and I find it at an Applebee's of all places in the world and at a 90s price??
I don't know if I just had the unicorn of chicken Parmigiana? Perhaps the chef may have been just having a great day, and not holding back or overwhelming with orders? Someone may have ordered from the wrong vendor at corporate and lost their job due to the high cost of this chicken?
Or, it may just be that somewhere in the heavens my mamma knew that I learned to find happiness internally in the memories long gone of our family eating out on the weekend ......
I don't want to know the truth, I want to live the story, and with that I will likely never order this again in 100 percent fear of loosing it all over again and singing back into the disappointment of...
Read moreWe have always enjoyed the food and service at this Applebee's. Especially on Friday nights. They must be under new management, because we have never had such a terrible experience at this location before. Our favorite server was Heather. Upon arrival, we were told she was not working but decided to stay anyway. That was a great mistake.
After we ordered, our waitress was busy helping the people behind us figure out separate checks. I am not sure if that is why I never received my salad before the meal, but it did not arrive with the meal either. Also, the extras I ordered with my steak were missing when the order showed up.
At that point, our waitress decided to take orders at the just seated 8 top behind us before checking to make sure all our items had arrived. My salad finally arrived 5 minutes later, but 10 minutes later the extras still had not arrived. By that time, the rest of our party had nearly finished their meal and I decided to take my food home to eat it.
When manager Debbie finally stopped by, I mentioned the delay in my order. Her responses was, "Well at least you had an appetizer so you didn't starve." I mentioned our situation and that comment to another manager and his response was "Next time you come in, if I am here ask for me."
This used to be the only Applebee's we patronized, but now it will be crossed...
Read more11-22-2024. Tried their $9.99 Chrispy Chicken Meal Deal for lunch today. Not impressed. The price was the best part, sandwich, fries and a drink at a sit down restaurant is pretty good these days. Their fries are always over-seasoned but the chicken sandwich was highly under seasoned. Good size piece of chicken breast, good breading but absolutely zero taste even with the mayo, lettuce, and tomato. Overall --- so so.
Like most visits to Applebees, our past visit to the neighborhood bar and grill was no exception. Overall a good experience. The service was great except our waitress should cover her nose with her mask not just her mouth. The whiskey bacon hamburger was cooked just right but was served only slightly warm as was also the case with the fries, just slightly warm. The disappointment was the $1 add on boneless ckichen special they are currently running. They too were served cold. Of the 5 boneless chicken pieces, 4 were small and consisted of just a sliver of chicken meat wrapped in a thick and hard breading. Only one piece was worthy of being served as a boneless chicken wing. If this promotion was to help sales of their boneless chicken wings, it was a very poor promotion. It certainly didn't convince me to get their...
