The food was delicious. The employees were very attentive and fast. My issue is that the person who seemed to be the manager is way too harsh and quick to speak up in front of customers dining to discipline his employees. I felt very anxious and uncomfortable as I could overhear every complaint that the manager spoke and said to his employees that I couldn’t enjoy the food. At one point, he was just standing, leaning on the counter and looking at all the customers as we all were eating.

Towards the ends, a different waitress came with the bill and I asked for a box to wrap up the leftovers. She leaves to ring up our bill and then bring back a box. Less than a minute passed and the manager comes over while I’m mid conversation with my husband, he has begun picking up my plate with the food I was going to take home with me and interrupts me to say “Miss? Are you done with this?” And I explain that I am but I wanted a box for the remainder. He then puts the plate back on the table and leaves to tell someone to get me a box but the waitress we had already knew and was going to bring it back with our receipt.

Additionally, when we walked into the restaurant, we were told to sit wherever we would like. Some of the tables were set up awkwardly where you’d be sitting very close to the table next to you, making it awkward to pick which table despite us being a table of 2.

Overall, we would get takeout from Biscuits, but we would not be dining inside again. I feel very sorry for the employees that have to deal with the reprimanding in front of customers...

With a recommendation from a neighbor, this morning was my first visit for breakfast take-out from Biscuits. I could not get to their breakfast menu on my iPhone; it only shows lunch items. But you can find their breakfast menu in customer pictures on Google.

I had the Biscuits Breakfast which offers two eggs, home fries, a biscuit and gravy, and a choice of meat. My partner had a an order of biscuits and gravy.

I ordered at the counter which was an easy and fast process and the staff was friendly and helpful. I waited out front for just a few minutes before getting my take-out bag.

They box the food in cardboard containers similar to a Chinese take-out box which is great considering it recyclable.

My eggs were cooked perfectly. The home fries were whole, new potatoes which were thoroughly cooked and somewhat crispy. I asked for crispy bacon which was just crispy enough. The biscuit and gravy were delicious, however, I could have used a slight more gravy.

All-in-all, it was a great breakfast though I have to say it the potatoes and eggs were overly seasoned with a heavy hand of salt and pepper.

My partner's biscuit and gravy was perfect. The seasoning was spot on and the amount of gravy to biscuit was spot-on.

We'll definitely go back for more though I'll ask them not to...

Worst breakfast I've had on the vineyard. I'm sorry but I've heard nothing but great things about biscuits and as a local I was happy that some "southern food" came to town. I was so excited to finally try this place. Me and my girlfriend order a bit of everything biscuits with gravy, southern fried chicken, omelet and an order of the "twisted toast". Everything was bad I mean bad! I lived in Georgia for 6 years and have close to 6 years experience as a chef this doesn't come close to actual biscuits and gravy, fried chicken of even French toast. The biscuits and gravy tasted like they both came out of a can. The fried chicken was bland and dry. The French toast tasted like fried dough there was also barely any strawberries or cream cheese. I'm sorry but when your name is biscuits you should be able to at least do biscuits right...I dont know how this business is successful other than they are making money by tricking people by the long line out the door. Anybody who thinks this is good or even decent food wouldn't know good food if it was thrown at their face. I'm sorry but please please please for the love of cooking and all things good work on your recipes......oh wait did I forget to mention there is no bathroom!!!!! No...

NO BATHROOM ON PREMISE! Very seldom that happens in a sitdown restaurant. This place is smaller than Linda Jean's, the other popular diner in Oak Bluffs. Busy in both places, but somehow at Linda Jean's it has better vibes, professionally more efficient. Here it just more chaotic and bumpy. And service at times very slow. So if you are in a hurry, beware. Food wise the namesake is BISCUITS, so got to be good, right? Well, my preferred version is the light flaky inside & buttery almost melt in your mouth kind, and crispy brown outside. Here's not quite. The fried chicken though was quite good and seasoned well. Not dry. Price is reasonable.

Best breakfast restaurant on the island. By far. The pricing is more than reasonable for the island and most importantly, they go above and beyond the standard American breakfast. You get southern and Caribbean flavors, I mean big flavors, infused into all food items. Loved it. 30 minutes to 1 hr wait is very common and it’s almost always packed. So the service can be inconsistent at times. But I don’t have any better option here at Martha’s Vineyard. May not be greeted with biggest smile at times, but I always gratefully devour the their signature biscuits and chicken/waffle.

Second visit. Chix and biscuits to go last time and really enjoyed the flavor and juiciness of the chicken. Breakfast today was fine. The food is well-prepared and plentiful but not particularly flavorful. The cod cake lacked simple seasoning let alone spices and the grits, which were good, were also just fine. Potatoes are well-cooked and minimally salted. Perhaps they’re being safe for the cardiac-careful guests. The biscuits get 4 stars and the serving team gets 5 bc they are really clearly trying to ensure everyone has a good experience.
