I was very disappointed in the service. I walked in with my two teen kids to get 2 decaf iced coffee and one normal iced coffee as well as 2 donuts. The woman taking the order got our order worked and we had to corrected her. In addition to this the worker tipped herself without me telling her to do so and without my consent then about 5 minutes after my coffee came out and i was fixing it the woman who took my order called me over to say she forgot to ring something up and she charged it and tipped herself AGAIN without my consent . A 20% tip for coffee, after she had already tipped herself. A few days later my kids wanted to go back for a coffee and the same thing happened. It was a different person taking out order and she tipped herself without us saying thats ok then about 3 minutes after our order she called over to say that she forgot to charge for one of the coffees and tipped herself another 20%. This time i asked to see the tip and she reluctantly showed it to me and i customized the tip to 0%. My tip for the future is if you do decided to make time to go to this amateur establishment make sure the not well trained workers are not trying to...

I have to preface by saying I'm not usually a donut person, so not the best judge in the products in this VERY popular store especially evening time. My understanding at the Back Door after 7pm there's always long queue sometimes even an hour wait. Even with QR code convenience I'm not sure it's worth it to wait that long. Anyway came here first thing in the morning just before they open, got the benefit of immediately putting in order of their famous bigger than palm size Apple Fritter $7.95. Maple bacon $3.15 and an Old fashioned $2.25. Was told the fritter is being fried will take another 5 minutes. 20 minutes later it finally came out, in the meantime the queue was out of the door probably numbering almost 20 people.

The verdict: Apple Fritter was indeed good (almost anything freshly fried got to be good, right?) but not heavenly good in my opinion. But what do I know? Maple Bacon was a good balance of sweet and savory, not bad. Old Fashioned was just like many others I had over the years.

Price of course IMHO on MV is more than average.

Service was friendly but overwhelmed by many visitors just like me who wants to sample the...

I typically don’t write bad reviews. What I experienced tonight was beyond absurd. I scanned the menu in the back to order online, thinking it would save me time. I noticed about 2 minutes afterwards that the changed the sign, but didn’t think much of it. I waited 45 minutes (25 min after the estimated time) to ask about my order. Honestly, it was busy so I expected to wait, but when I saw people who clearly ordered after me get their order, I knew it wasn’t right. The guy who came out told me we have your order but you have to go to the front. Are you kidding me? I waited over 45 minutes for a few donuts and you can’t get them for me? I expressed my dissatisfaction with the woman at the counter but she clearly didn’t know what to say. The sign obviously changed because the sign I scanned did not say to go to the front. If I knew I would have to wait 45 minutes for 3 donuts I probably would have just gone to Dunkin’ . It’s unfortunate they made zero effort to remediate the situation, so I will not be recommending nor returning. One of the worst experiences...

This place took me back to my childhood days when you could buy the hostess donuts from the grocery store and they actually tasted like real donuts! We would put them in the toaster oven and eat them hot😋. Back door donuts has the best donuts ever. The buttermilk glazed cake and the raised honey dipped glazed were my favorites. My nieces loved the raised chocolate frosting donut. There was a line both nights (Friday and Saturday) that we went. Took us about 15 minutes to get through the line and another 5 minutes to have our warm donuts in hand😊. This is definitely a spot I would return to everytime I am on the island. The only thing I don't like is that the donuts are all served in paper bags. So for example, each chocolate frosted donut is in a separate bag due to the frosting. So that it doesn't get smushed. I had four paper bags for my order. I wish they had boxes for large orders.

Back Door Donuts in Oak Bluffs is an absolute gem! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ From the moment you step foot inside, the aroma of freshly baked donuts envelops you, setting the stage for a delightful experience. The variety of flavors is astounding, ranging from classic glazed to inventive creations like maple bacon and blueberry crumble. Each donut is a masterpiece of flavor and texture, with the perfect balance of sweetness and indulgence. Whether you're craving something traditional or feeling adventurous, Back Door Donuts has something to satisfy every palate. But what truly sets this place apart is the atmosphere. There's a warmth and charm that permeates every corner, making you feel right at home. Plus, the staff is always friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall positive vibe. If you find yourself in Oak Bluffs, a visit to Back Door Donuts is an absolute must. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!
