We stayed in the 3 bedroom apartment for three nights. That is the minimum stay that is required. I think the master (biggest bedroom) had a queen or full size bed. The other two bedrooms definitely had a full size bed. The master bedroom was the biggest with about 2 feet of walking space on either side of the bed. The other two rooms only had enough space to walk sideways on the side of the bed. The Pequot does clearly state in it's description of the rooms on their website that the rooms are "small bedrooms" They are. There was a full functioning kitchen with pots, dishes, utensils, etc. There was one bathroom which was tough for two adults and three teenagers, ALL FEMALE😀. We created a schedule of the time each person could shower😁. It worked well! Each room had a mirror so we could do our beauty routine in the bedrooms and use the bathroom to shower and the other human functions 😀. There is one small shelf in the bathroom for some of your beauty products. I kept my products in my room on the dresser. The cable box was also on the dresser so there wasn't a lot of room available. The apartment does get a bit muggy but there are AC units in each room of the apartment. They worked well. I am a fan of crisp white sheets. There were none here. The sheets seemed to have been through many uses. Pretty thin as well. Could see through them. The location of this apartment was a block away from the beach. Very close! The hotel provides beach towels, chairs, umbrellas on a first come first serve basis. The both days we went to the beach we had chairs and umbrellas available but on one day there were no clean towels available. The breakfast was good for me. It was three different types of an egg quiche type of pie. One without meat, one with ham and the other with a green vegetable. There was also hard boiled eggs, fruit, granola, toast, bagels, waffle, coffee, tea, juice. There are fresh baked cookies and lemonade every day at 2 pm. The cookies were good. On Friday night there was live music on the front porch with cheese and crackers and fruit. We saw the gentleman that was performing the live music in other areas of the island while we were on our trip. Seems like he has numerous gigs on the island😊. Overall we had a great time at this hotel. Staff was...
Read moreFirst things first....when going to Martha's Vineyard, you first need to decide Edgartown or Oak Bluffs, the former higher end luxury with not much to do in the evenings with the latter more of a traditional island less luxury/higher energy experience, and we've done and enjoyed both.||The Peguot Hotel is well located (we walked to the beach each evening which Edgartown really doesn't have) and well staffed and they do a nice job of creating an experience. One night there was live music with free wine and cheeses which was fun and one morning during breakfast (which was good) they had mimosas. The porch is a great way to meet people and just veg.||The rooms are nice and well appointed (we got a double queen suite) but they are old and ours had more of a cabin feel, especially the bathrooms which while clean was in need of an upgrade. I don't blame the hotel but we where in season and paid over $600 a night which is too much for this property but so is over $1,500 a night for some of the choices in Edgartown. So if you go into this in season pricing and expecting Edgartown luxury, you may be disappointed with quality of room for the price. ||But if you understand the choice/expectation difference between the Edgartown/Oak Bluffs experience, you will enjoy the uniqueness of...
Read moreIn September, I had the pleasure of visiting Martha’s Vineyard and staying at the Pequot Hotel. Prior to my trip, I spoke with Lisa Allen, and from the very beginning, she and the staff were warm, professional, and welcoming. Upon arrival, we were greeted with smiles and friendly attitudes, with the team readily offering assistance from unloading our luggage to helping us get settled into our room.
I was traveling with four seniors, some with disabilities, and the staff, along with the transportation company, went above and beyond to ensure our visit was smooth and enjoyable. We also celebrated a very special birthday during our stay, and the hotel kindly assisted us with arranging a cake and making sure the celebration for my friend’s 89th birthday was truly unforgettable.
The rooms were spotless, the breakfast each morning was delicious, and one of my favorite moments was simply sitting on the porch. I wish I had another day just to relax there swinging, chatting with passersby, and being entertained by the wonderful staff.
This was more than just a hotel stay; it was a memorable experience filled with kindness and genuine care. I highly recommend the Pequot Hotel to anyone visiting Martha’s Vineyard.
