Arrived the night before for a pre construction site visit, found Cahoots by searching breakfast near me. After stopping to buy fireworks, cause they ain't selling them in San Diego, I arrived 1.5 miles later to a popular restaurant. The girl who greeted me and allowed me to sit wherever I wanted, was a touch sarcastic but, so am I and I like it when the younger generation can communicate with adults. Ordered a traditional breakfast, and asked about hashbrowns and he said they make home-cooked potatoes w/oinions and bell peppers - I'm not a fan of bell peppers and shared this. And guess what? They made the potatoes w/out the bell peppers, this may not seem like a big deal but this tells me they make their own potatoes versus buying a prepackaged version. The sausage was great, the sourdough toast was like homemade bread and the coffee fantastic + they gave me a to-go cup for my coffee. We've got 3 jobs within 2 miles of this restaurant and when I return to Oakdale, I'll be found here...
Read moreI had the linguica sandwich with a salad and honey mustard. Their salad was actually really nice. I love linguica any way you slice it and when they put it on a long breadroll that felt fresh baked that day so I was instantly pleased with my order. My cousin had a really tasty looking sandwich. I don't know the name but there was avocado and chicken. I was a little envious of her sandwich. The parking is difficult so carpool if you can. The restaurant is busy and cozy but it was at a noise level that you'd feel comfy having a semi private conversation with someone at your table. Best thing about this place for me is their iced tea. They have a great selection and they put it in a mason jar. The server seems to be in the habit of giving to go cups to the tea drinkers which I really appreciate. Our service was amazing! They must be one of those restaurants that only hire veteran wait staff because they are always very thoughtful when I...
Read moreIf you live in Oakdale - or not - and you haven't eaten at Cahoots, you should! My husband and I stopped there out of the blue for breakfast and loved it! Two weeks later we returned, with my mother in tow, for another fabulous breakfast. This time I chose french toast(I chose waffles the first time because if they can make a good batter then you can bet the rest of your breakfast'll be good too. And I was right! They were wonderfully crisp and soft and had this light, sweet vanilla taste to them - delicious) I loved the fresh berries(there are a variety to choose from) on my french toast - as you can see. Eggs and bacon with that were cooked perfectly for me. We had terrific, informative, and friendly service from the entire staff both times. So! As far as the restaurant, food, and service goes, there is NOTHING to complain about...parking - on the other hand - is in limited supply. BUT, if you have to park a block away... it's...
