My boyfriend and I decided to try a place that neither of us had been to before. Based on the reviews, we decided to give a Shar'els Cafe a shot. Unfortunately, we were not as impressed as we thought we would be. We went at a "popular" time and knew we would have a bit of wait. Nothing surprising, and it wasn't very long. Once we were seated, the host got us our glasses of water and let us know our waitress would be with us shortly. Ok, so far, so good. But we quickly realized that the size of the location and the amount of the people there, made it very hard to really have any kind of conversation, let alone being seating so close to other customers, that you would be talking over their conversations as well. Once our waitress came to take our order, she never once looked at us, we were certainly not very important to her, and we had to repeat what we said. Which was very different from how the table next to us was treated. It was clear that we were just people wanting food to her, and the other table was people that must have been regulars or people that she knew. Um ok? In addition, we were never asked if we wanted anything to drink other than the water nor were we made aware of any specials they had for the day (which we found they had, AFTER our order was already put in). Needless to say, I got coffee about 20 minutes after I was seated and about 5 minutes after my order was taken. Onto the food, the portions are very generous, no doubt there. We both ordered a skillet from the breakfast menu and even though the menu listed an abundance of yummy ingredients, both of our dishes consisted mainly of potatoes and that was about it. Sure, the other ingredients were there, but hard to find. Disappointing to say the least. As much as I could say about Shar'els Cafe...I will try to cut this short. PROS-Large food portions, short waiting times CONS-below par customer service,...

I'd definitely return, but it wasn't something I'd go out of my way to try out if I was looking for something special as there are other "fancier" places that I reserve my 5 stars for. I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could.
Staff was friendly, service was quick. Food was good, but not the best I'd ever had. I got the French toast with scrambled eggs and sausage pattie. Eggs were ever so slightly on the runny side, but still good even though I prefer more well done. French toast was good, and tasted better than it looked as it appeared to also be on the less-than-well-done side.
Coffee was on the over-roasted side, but not bad.
Quaint atmosphere as it's an open room, but a quarter of it has a half height wall filled with books that reminds you of a small town library.
Would definitely be back again, especially with the low prices and...
