My boyfriend and I decided to try a place that neither of us had been to before. Based on the reviews, we decided to give a Shar'els Cafe a shot. Unfortunately, we were not as impressed as we thought we would be. We went at a "popular" time and knew we would have a bit of wait. Nothing surprising, and it wasn't very long. Once we were seated, the host got us our glasses of water and let us know our waitress would be with us shortly. Ok, so far, so good. But we quickly realized that the size of the location and the amount of the people there, made it very hard to really have any kind of conversation, let alone being seating so close to other customers, that you would be talking over their conversations as well. Once our waitress came to take our order, she never once looked at us, we were certainly not very important to her, and we had to repeat what we said. Which was very different from how the table next to us was treated. It was clear that we were just people wanting food to her, and the other table was people that must have been regulars or people that she knew. Um ok? In addition, we were never asked if we wanted anything to drink other than the water nor were we made aware of any specials they had for the day (which we found they had, AFTER our order was already put in). Needless to say, I got coffee about 20 minutes after I was seated and about 5 minutes after my order was taken. Onto the food, the portions are very generous, no doubt there. We both ordered a skillet from the breakfast menu and even though the menu listed an abundance of yummy ingredients, both of our dishes consisted mainly of potatoes and that was about it. Sure, the other ingredients were there, but hard to find. Disappointing to say the least. As much as I could say about Shar'els Cafe...I will try to cut this short. PROS-Large food portions, short waiting times CONS-below par customer service,...

Quaint little breakfast joint with traditional breakfast fare. Nothing too unique or fancy. Just solid food with really low prices. I'd definitely return, but it wasn't something I'd go out of my way to try out if I was looking for something special as there are other "fancier" places that I reserve my 5 stars for. I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could.

Staff was friendly, service was quick. Food was good, but not the best I'd ever had. I got the French toast with scrambled eggs and sausage pattie. Eggs were ever so slightly on the runny side, but still good even though I prefer more well done. French toast was good, and tasted better than it looked as it appeared to also be on the less-than-well-done side.

Coffee was on the over-roasted side, but not bad.

Quaint atmosphere as it's an open room, but a quarter of it has a half height wall filled with books that reminds you of a small town library.

Would definitely be back again, especially with the low prices and...

Shar'els is the kind of place that feels less like a restaurant and more like coming home to mama's kitchen. Specializing in breakfast and lunch, this charming cafe offers hearty, home-cooked meals that soothe the soul and satisfy the appetite. Whether you're craving their mouthwatering sausage filled breakfast sandwich served with crispy hashbrowns or a classic club sandwich for lunch, Shar'els delivers every bite with love.

The atmosphere is just as delightful as the food. The staff treats every guest like family, creating a welcoming environment where you can truly relax. It's clear that the team at Shar'els takes pride in both their service and their cooking—everything feels personal, like it's been made just for you.

Shar'els is not just a cafe; it's a community cornerstone, where comfort food and friendly faces make you feel right at home. If you're looking for a local gem in Oakdale, Minnesota, this is the spot to visit...

I found about this because my sister invited me and our cousin today for breakfast. When I walked the atmosphere looked so comfy. Our waitress was also very nice and awesome. I ordered the Shar'els platter, the scramble eggs was good. Bacon cooked perfectly and the hashbrown was nice and golden brown well seasoned too. The toast is also great My cousin and brother in law got the French Toast Combo and I was kinda jealous because it looked good. My sister got the eggs and potatoes and she enjoyed it. The prices is a very good deal with how much portion of food you get. Even if I live far away from this restaurant I see myself coming here again.

This was my first time at this restaurant. The restaurant was extremely busy and at full capacity with several people waiting. It’s a small restaurant. They serve breakfast and lunch. No dinner as they close at 2:00pm for the day. We had breakfast. The staff was friendly and attentive. It’s quite loud with everyone talking. If you’re sensitive to loud restaurants, you may not enjoy it. The quality of the food was average, but, certainly acceptable. I give it 4 stars overall. I’m sure the cook was extremely busy. I will eat here again and try their lunch.
