Sourdough Co. — Formerly Slow AF Sourdough Co., Apparently Still Is I've been to two locations now, and both move at the pace of a DMV line on Ambien. If you're thinking about grabbing lunch here on a regular 30-60 minute break, forget it — unless you have a two-hour lunch window and a podcast queue to kill. No common sense when it comes to prioritizing customers. They just vibe through the workday, taking their sweet time, like the slowest, laziest teenagers half-heartedly building a sandwich. At Subway, you at least get to assemble your sandwich while it’s being made. Here, it’s like they take your order, go journal about their hopes and dreams, and maybe eventually think about making your food. Yes, the food is good. I won't lie. But the "work ethic" is stuck in neutral, and honestly, it's a bummer to see such a solid product get buried under this level of snail-speed service. I shouldn't have to research to see if this is a chain-wide issue... But I already feel like it does and I've only eaten at two restaurants. I shouldn't have to spend my whole lunch waiting for a ladle of soup lol literally could have...
Read moreThe food is good if you don’t mind waiting 30 minutes for some sandwiches. Ordered three sandwiches, 2 hot and 1 cold. 30 minutes later we finally got our food with three other parties that ordered after us had already got their food. The owner is a dip and needs to help his employees. Instead of saying “Can you stop making sandwiches and come get this bread out of the oven because I don’t have gloves?” Instead go put some gloves on and help them. Instead he went and started talking to customers. The ordering process takes a long time as well. I was very clear in only wanting mayonnaise on my sandwich. He pulled a car salesman on me and tried to get me to put more stuff on it. Going as far as to ask me several times. The way the employees have been taught is not conducive to the flow. One employee works on their own order instead of helping each other. This means a slow employee can hold up a single persons order. The women working there are by far the fastest and most competent workers. The boys really need to step up and start turning those...
Read moreI was absolutely disgusted when I ordered my sandwhich, and the sandwhich maker didn't even bother to wipe down the board. On top of that she didn't even bother to wash her hands, or change her gloves she simply dunked them into sanitizer and dried them with a cleaning rag. I spoke up and asked her to wipe down the board and to wash her hands and change her gloves and she did comply. After this the owner came out and tried to argue with me that it was not necessary for her to change her glove or to wash her hands after each task. Then proceed to tell me how expensive glove are and that servesafe and the health department were okay with their policies on handwashing/glove changes. I have been in the hospitality industry for 30 years and have a food managers card and I know for a fact that the lazy and disgusting owner was lying to my face this was not okay and although my sandwich was great I will never return to the location in Oakdale Ca. I have been to several different locations and they all complied with standard health and...
