Twin Dragons — Restaurant in Oakland Charter Township

I've lived in Metro Detoit for many, many years, and have been on a constant journey to find good Chinese cuisine in the area. After eating at Twin Dragons, I can confidently say my journey has come to an end! The food here was by far the best I've had in Rochester, Rochester Hills, Sterling Heights, Troy, and Warren area.

I had the crab ragoons, egg drop soup, and sweet & sour chicken combo. The ragoons were crispy and had a wonderful mix of sweet and savory filling. The egg drop soup was perfect for a cold winter day and was delicious! The sweet and sour chicken was crispy and tender, and the fried rice had almost a smoky flavor, and like everything thing else, was delicious. The egg roll wasn't greasy tasting at all and had a well seasoned exterior shell. It had a ton of cabbage inside, which I personally loved.

We dined in, but many people came and went with takeout orders. The ladies that served us were very friendly and attentive, and the food was out in about 15 minutes. From what we could see of the kitchen, everything is made fresh to order - no platters of food sitting around waiting for people to buy. The prices were very reasonable (cost us about $40 with two orders of crab ragoons, a pint of soup, and two combo meals), and the portions were plentiful. Part way through eating, I thought to take a picture, so the portions are actually a bit larger than shown. We had more than enough to make a second meal for the next day!

TLDR; best Chinese food north of 11 Mile, great prices, plentiful portion sizes, fast, and friendly staff....

Perfect Sesame Chicken & Lo Mein — Great Local Spot!

I ordered the sesame chicken and chicken lo mein from Twin Dragons, and both dishes were excellent. The sesame chicken was crispy with just the right amount of sweetness in the sauce, not overly greasy like other places. The chicken lo mein had soft, flavorful noodles with plenty of vegetables and tender chicken.

Everything was hot, fresh, and packed with flavor. Portion sizes were generous, and I had leftovers for the next day. The service was fast and friendly, and the pickup process was smooth.

As someone who’s tried a lot of Chinese takeout in the area, Twin Dragons consistently delivers quality and taste. Highly recommend if you’re craving classic Chinese comfort...

Going to keep it simple. This is the best Chinese food in Michigan. Originally from NY, I have been on a quest since moving to Michigan to find Chinese food that tasted like it should. It’s taken me over 5 years, and trying over two dozen places.

Michigan Chinese food uses an egg/flour batter for the standards (e.g. orange chicken, sesame chicken) which is gross. This place has a more traditional corn starch batter that makes it crispy and delicious.
