Interesting that people want us to respect their gender but they can’t respect how you want your coffee.
This place on college used to be good. Actually, the few Philzs I have gone to in the past used to be good. Good vibe, fun friendly people. That def shifted over the years. People are in a bad mood, attitudie, typical customer service, almost dmv vibe treatment now. I guess it is what happens to business when they grow.
I love most of their coffees especially the iced Rose that they got a few years ago. It is always a gamble if you will get the way you like because everyone makes it a little different but they always check in abou it. I could deal with that but would bring disappointment often to my daily $7 investment.
The thing I disliked the most is that I would end up getting cold coffee, not iced coffee, because since the coffee is fresh, it would melt the ice and I would just get diluted cold coffee. My solution was to ask without ice and then add it to my own cup with a lot of ice.
Then, I started noticing people with extra attitude. Like I was asking for no ice to get more coffee, then they started putting less coffee on my cup. Sweetly, I mentioned that I didn’t like the ice because it would melt but that was too hard to comprehend so still attitude. Then, I sweetly chatted with the manager about how rude people were to me just because I was asking for no ice and giving me a cup 3/4 full since IF I would ask for the same coffee hot, it would come full. She was really sweet but I guess that you cannot control people and the attitude just kept happening. It is a better start of my day if I just find the...
Read moreManagement from a year ago was very negligent of the space. I stopped coming here because it was dirty and the drinks were not very consistent. I was never greeted or welcomed into the store. I stopped coming here and became a regular at the Gilman location. I finally went back with my husband last week because we wanted to check it out after some time- it is also the closest location to us. All we have to say is wow! Whoever is running the place is doing such a great job. The space is clean, the baristas are very kind and during rushes they produce quality drinks in a reasonable time period. I did not mind waiting too much because the environment was so welcoming. I am impressed to say the least that this place has done a complete 180 since the last time I was here which was about one and a half years ago. I would also like to thank Jackson and Kelsey for the fantastic service. I love it when I go to a place with great service and kind staff. What ever you are doing, please do not stop!!! My ONE only concern is the furniture in this place. It is all the same from when I was here about two years ago and I am no spring chicken anymore. My back starts to hurt after a while and I just can't fully enjoy myself here since sitting in the seats here hurt my back. Both the metal and hard wood chairs.
Regardless, Philz College Ave, you have got yourself two...
Read moreI tried the mint mojito and their honey latte. Both amazing. The mint mojito was cold and refreshing. The latte was like a warm hug. I had very little honey in order to truly taste their coffee and I was not disappointed. Their coffee is bold and smooth.
I've become a huge fan of oat milk in my coffees. I'm not lactose intolerant or vegan, I just prefer the taste and how it blends so well with the flavor of coffee. If you haven't tried oatmilk in your coffee, I recommend trying it. I'd love to know what you think once you've tried it.
After reading some reviews, I must have timed it PERFECTLY because there was NO line to order when I arrived in the middle of the day. Waited maybe 10 mins to get my drink, but the atmosphere was so lively outside with people happily chatting and fun music playing I did not...
