I would not give this donut shop one star, but that was the only way I could write the review. Stopped in on New Year’s Eve to pick. You can clearly could tell that they had been out for a few day but we had a carving for donuts so my husband and I brought a dozen donuts. When we got to the car we realized they had no glaze and were stale, so we returned them.
The lady working the cash register informed us that they do not take refunds only exchanges. We told her that we were just strictly interested in getting our money back. She said she couldn’t do it so she called her manager. Her manager at first refused to refund us our money. Finally agreed to refund us our money because it was New Year’s Eve…and told us to never come to her business...

So rude, they came out and started yelling at us. Then proceeded to take photos of us and take photos of the license plate. Then just to sum it all up she started to complain to her customers about it. She even lied to them saying that we were using her power when we were using the power from the business Nextdoor which we got permission for. Read moreBeen a fan of colonial my entire life, both this location and the one near Lake Merritt. But WOW. I am now their DEVOTEE! I've always loved their classic Raised and Old Fashioned. But today (Friday), I had to meet their new card minimum. Boy, am I glad there's that card minimum.
Colonial has introduced new Mochi donuts, available only Fri-Sun. Made of a succulent and ooey-gooey rice-based paste, the donuts are just as pull-apart delicious as the standard donuts but with more body. I went with the passionfruit glazed, and wow. WOW.
