While visiting my sister in Oakland today, we decided to order some food on DoorDash for pickup on our way to Walnut Creek and were very disappointed by the service and food.
My sister wasn't sure what name it was under- hers or my mom's, so she said it was for one or the other. The waiter grabbed the food we thought was ours, my sister left a tip, and the waiter helped her get it to the car. All seemed great. Until we got all the way to Walnut Creek and we received a call from DoorDash saying we grabbed the wrong food. They insisted that we drive all the way back to return the food which seemed strange to us because we assume that they wouldn't want to actually give the food to the people that it belonged to after an hour - hour and a half of sitting in a car... during a pandemic no less. But we figured it was just DoorDash insisting that we do this, so we drove all the way back.
This is what really sucked- we got there and the original waiter that helped us was very kind about it and apologized, but another employee that was there proceeded to blame us for not specifying that it was a DoorDash order and was very rude to us, obviously annoyed. I've worked in restaurants and gotten pick-up from many, many restaurants, but I've never experienced such bad customer service. I actually thought we shouldn't have even driven all the way back.
To top it off, once we finally ate the food, it wasn't even good. My mom's shrimp was spongey, our enchiladas smelled weird, the chicken was rubbery, and the rice and beans were bland. We ended up throwing most of the food away.
Needless to say, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone and I definitely...
Read moreDecided to dine here since it was Cinco de Mayo. Friend invited me, since my favorite restaurant closed-Mexicali Rose. There's a bar to the left when you walk in and it was not yet fully occupied. There was a "Wait to be seated" sign and a waiter came immediately to take us to a seat right up front, I asked for a booth seat and we were told that it was reserved for more than 2 people and they were waiting for a rush crowd and was stirred to a small table that was not yet cleaned and little space to dine comfortably. There were plenty of seats for us to sit anywhere. As, the host started to clean the dirty, I told my friend that, I would rather leave. She didn't want to, and when the waiter returned, he gave us another bigger table to eat at. I was fine with it, but would've been happy ay the booth. We sat and ordered a couple margaritas. Mine was supposed to be strawberry but it tasted more like lime than strawberries. They refixed my drink and it was much better. Ordered enchiladas with shredded chicken and rice, beans give me gas, so I opted out. The bathroom was clean, didn't smell fresh but better than being stinky. I would have gave 5 stars bit the seating arrangement was a...
Read moreWhile the Margherita and chips were good, anything good stopped at that. My friend had a vegetarian tostada, I had a shredded chicken tostada and Carne asada crispy taco. 1st. My friend found meat in her veggie tostada and did not like it even if she did not find pieces of meat. The shredded chicken was fresh but completely lacked any flavor. The watery "refried beans" on all 3 dishes was just gross in texture and flavor. The Carne asada was little tiny round overcooked pieces of cheap beef. Explains why they did not do small slices as expected. I took one bite and scooped out the beef to give to my hungry dog. He wouldn't even finish it.
This was one of the most bland and just bad Mexican food I ever had. I should have left the place when I had several sections of a wide variety of other American foods on their large confusing menu. Never...
