Update: upgrading to 5 stars. The rice has gotten better. I think the key is buying when a fresh batch comes out because the rice gets chalky when kept at fridge temp. Also a sign that they don’t use preservatives like grocery store sushi. Fortunately, now that they are very busy at lunch time, it’s likely you’ll catch a fresh batch. Fish quality far superior to any restaurant in the neighborhood.

A sweet young couple runs this take-out place. Restaurant grade fish for a tad more than grocery store price. Thoughtful presentation. The gari (ginger) and wasabi are better quality than other low-end Japanese restaurants on the street. Clean minimalist interior. Only con is the rice, an integral part of sushi, is slightly chalky and broken. I’d still frequent the place for an easy, refreshing, affordable lunch. Welcome addition to the neighborhood and looking forward to them...

I am a fan! I was excited when Ebiko first opened their doors and was not disappointed with my first experience. In Japan, convenience store pre-packaged sushi is legendary. But grab-and-go sushi at a 7/11 would give me pause here in the US, which is why Ebiko is so special. Everything from their Kaisen don to their chutoro bowls and inari are so delicious and freshly prepared.

The only thing preventing the 5th star is that sometimes the fish selection is weak. I've had delicious salmon nigiri and rolls one week and bland flavors the next. Otherwise, the selection is great and always available and the staff is especially friendly...

Lovely little shop with the best quality fish I‘ve had at this price point. Every piece of the omakase nigiri set was amazing. Salmon is smooth and a good fattiness. I usually don’t like lean tuna but this one was great. The fattier tunas were incredible. I usually don‘t like scallops either but this one was sweet and so fresh. The salmon roe was very flavorful as well. The seafood to rice ratio was also perfect across the board. I don’t eat much per meal so the seven pieces were a good amount for me. It‘s takeout but they give wasabi and ginger in a separate container which is very convenient, and the chopsticks are...

When I'm craving sashimi or sushi that's fresh and reasonably priced, I always head to Ebiko. Ebiko is a quick stop-and-shop in Piedmont, wish fresh sushi, nigiri, sashimi and more! It's mainly for takeout. The service is good and friendly! Mainly just the chefs in the back and hostess/cashier. Since it's a shop without seating, the vibe feels like a convenient store with snacks and drinks as well. Parking can be a pain, but if you emergency park, I'm sure you'll be in and out under 5minutes. Overall, great store for sushi and I would always recommend friends to stop by here when visiting!

Best hidden secret. I have a hard time not visiting this place daily. There are so many options of rolls, rice bowls, and side dishes to-go. I believe most items are raw. Small amount of bon fish options rolls. Kids favorites are the avocado roll and California rolls There are a ton of Japanese snacks like pocky, shrimp chips, chocolate covered almonds, hi chews, wasabi peas a number of drinks. The staff are great, always friendly and have good recommendations . I've been visiting this place since they opened and every time I go they've got something new. Prices are right.
