Oakland is a unique place where you can find soul food and local cuisine nestled in the heart of the city. Unlike San Francisco or the South Bay, many people are unaware of the diverse food scene here in Oakland. One evening, I was looking for some fried rice 🍚🍛and, since I was staying nearby, I stumbled upon a charming little spot where I decided to order a combination plate.🍜

The elderly lady at the cashier was incredibly sweet and friendly, and I suspected the chef was her husband. I requested fried rice along with half chow mein, and she provided me with excellent options for that evening. When I went to pay, I noticed that I could add extra shrimp for just a dollar more; I asked her for the shrimp, and she generously gave it to me for free. She was truly delightful!

I enjoyed a fantastic dinner that night for about $11, and the portions were enormous. It's these hidden gems that deserve more love and attention, as not many people take the time to review places like this. I usually go here when I’m in the mood for Chinese which is probally once a month. Today I decided after 2 days of eating thanksgiving leftovers I would treat me and my kids yo Chinese and I have to say I was disappointed 😠 I got 1 order of salt and pepper chicken wings which is my all time favorite but this time around the flavor just was not their, it didn’t taste like anything and I also got orange chicken which was too hot for my 6 year old and 2 year old their was too much pepper flakes added and the chow mein. had so much sauce on it and was extremely oily which made it hard to eat and instead made me feel sick . I'm new to East Oakland. I recently started keto and I called these guys trying to order something that fit into my diet. They were more than helpful and made me two special dishes that were keto friendly. They brought it to my house and delivered it to the door for 26 bucks. I love this place and I recommend it to anyone their customer service is phenomenal and the food is just as good. They made me an egg foo young that was zero carb and made me salt and pepper pork that did not have any breading and was also zero carb.
