Montse's Cafe — Restaurant in Oakland

I've been getting coffee and eating lunch here weekly for years. I just changed jobs and no longer work on Filbert st and am sad to not come here regularly anymore. The prices are excellent, the menu has tons of options and I've enjoyed all of the things I've tried. I love their espresso, even go out of my way to come here for coffee from other neighborhoods sometimes. They make excellent salads and sandwiches especially their superb breakfast sandwich. One of the only places you can still get a decent espresso drink for under $5. And their jamaica agua fresca is off the chart! Highly...

I am always apprehensive about eating at a coffeehouse like cafe like this place as I have worked at many similar places... and know the standards of quality at similar places.

That being said, Montse's has great quality food at a reasonable price served by friendly staff.

I've had the chicken pita several times and really enjoy it. Their brealfasts are a great deal and they in general are awesome.

Excellent Sandwiches. Can't wait too try other things on the menu. Service is great but the place is out of the way on a side street. If the location was closer to jack london square I would think they would be alot busier. I found Montes only because of the sandwich board on the corner of 3rd street.
