HaPPi Hands (formerly Kids Play Zone) — Attraction in Oakland

Love that this is available in Oakland - the closest indoor children's playroom is Alameda or El Cerrito. Free parking, close to freeway entrance and exits, and the location is surrounded by a gym, food, retail and more.

Kelinda, the owner, is friendly and attentive, and greets all at the front desk. This space is equipped with a great size play structure, toys for imaginative play, legos, different types of building blocks, Melissa and Doug brand toys, a reading area, and a cushioned space for young toddlers and crawling infants. There is WIFI for your laptop, a coffee/tea bar & snack bar(for purchase). Light jazz / classical music is playing in the background and the space is bright with natural light. Must wear socks and leave your shoes at the door upon entrance.

It's my second day here and the children love the variety of space to soothe their energy. The older-aged kids are at the play structure, while the pre-k kids of 3-5yrs are at the imaginative play zones, and the little ones barely crawling are at the foam play area. All of the kids get along and i have not seen any out of control behavior here.

We had our daughter's 3rd birthday here (with guests spanning 7 mo to 4 years old). The kids had an absolute blast! There was some crying when people had to leave... so they must have been having a lot of fun :) According to lots of texts from parents... the kids also just absolutely collapsed at home afterwards. So a quiet, peaceful evening with a sleepy toddler is an added bonus! :D

From our perspective, it couldn't have been easier. Kelinda was fantastic in setting everything up. All we had to do was tell her what theme we wanted -- and she did the rest! The decorations were great. Even the music and gift bags (which they put together and provide) were themed. Kelinda went around after the kids were done playing with certain toys to pick up and reset things for the next kids who wanted to play. Amazingly the place didn't descend into chaos with that many kiddos running around!

We had first learned about this little gem months ago during a rainy day. We ended up purchasing the 5 visit pass and our little one not only loved to visit, but it was nice to see him become more comfortable each time we went.

We love how there are so many different stations for the kids to play like the play structure and pretend play areas. It’s the perfect place for a little one to stay occupied and explore safely.

The owner is such a great woman who really cares about her business and the community. She does an excellent job of keeping the place organized and clean.

For the birthday party, I really appreciated how organized and helpful she was. We were glad our small group was able to experience this hidden gem in West Oakland; with everyone raving how much they enjoyed the place - adults...
