My husband and I are extremely disappointed with the service we received today. We've come here twice before, and the service was great, so we decided to bring our family for dinner. It wasn't that busy, but our server Juliana was extremely slow. We were sat outside in the back and it was cold. We asked her three times to have the heater turn on. It never happened. We had to ask a nearby busser a fourth time to turn the heater on and he did it right away. Not sure why our server couldn't do it, but thankfully the busser was able to. Then our appetizers came out and we didn't have plates, utensils or napkins. We had to ask another busser if they could please grab some for us. Our server came over 10 minutes later with an additional set of plates and said she didn't realize they already brought some out. We told her we had to ask because the appetizers came out 10 minutes ago, and we didn't want to wait for our food to get cold. She started to walk away when we had to tell her we were ready to order entrees, and asked her for a small dog water bowl. She said she wasn't sure if they provide water bowls for dogs and I explained I'd been to Skipolini's in Oakley twice before and received dog water bowls both times without having to ask. Our food took close to an hour to come out. We ordered 2 small pizzas, a small salad, 3 pastas, and 2 cups of soup. Our order shouldn't have taken so long. If it was taking that long, our server Juliana should have checked in and notified us. Instead, she came over at the 45 minute mark to ask, "Are you okay?" We told her not really because it's cold and we're starving to which she replied, "Yes I can see you don't have your food." There was a moment of awkward silence and we asked if she could please check on the status of our food. She disappeared. It was another 15 minutes of radio silence when our food finally appeared. We still had our empty appetizer plates on the table and had to flag down a different server to have the plates removed to make room for our entrees. Then we noticed our pizzas were cold as if they were sitting for a long time... and an entree was missing. Other people around us were complaining that their orders were wrong and/or cold as well. Juliana never checked in with us to ask how the food was. So we had to flag down another busser to ask if they could help us locate the missing entree. They brought it out almost immediately, which leads me to believe it was just sitting there. We again flagged down a busser to ask for the dog water bowl that our server never brought, which the busser brought out immediately. Our server finally came by 25 minutes since the last time she dropped by and we asked for the check to avoid another long wait. It was a circus. Another 20 minutes goes by and we still didn't have our check. We flagged down another server to ask for a manager to visit our table. The manager, Justin, graciously helped us and we appreciate his sincerity. However, we really would have liked our server Juliana to have taken accountability and shown that she cared just a little bit. I'm upset that I brought my family here, who were visiting me and my husband's new town for the first time. Everyone else but our server helped us. Justin brought our check and boxes. It was just as we were getting up to leave that Juliana shows up and asked if everything was ok. She didn't acknowledge that she never brought the check or boxes, and basically just forgot about us. Unacceptable. It will be a long time before we...
Read moreI'm going to start off my review with I did not leave a tip! I was so disappointed after reviewing the reviews. Well I'm a single Patron so I said at the bar. I arrived at the bar set at the end the bartender looked at me and continued to drink her big gulp. That was red flag number one, she did not say anything to me. So when she came over I asked her hey do you know how to make a Hennessy Sidecar she says sure I can do that. I watch her part the Hennessy okay then she picks up a bottle of Citron I know the poor count she put way way over the amount of Citron it should have only been a half an ounce which is why a three count and then a little bit of simple syrup. Well the picture I'm going to give you looks like a lemon drop and it tasted like a lemon drop. So I let her know that hey this drink tastes like a lemon drop and she forcefully in a yelling voice says well I put 2 oz of Hennessy and I said I seen that but you put weight too much Citron she said nothing I said well I want another drink. So I ended up ordering a lemon drop which was no better in The Taste line I ordered a second one the second one was horrible. I go to order the skip skip which is more for a party of four to six people the bread was overcooked maybe it was from yesterday but it definitely was not fresh. The dip of vinegar and oil with herbs was the best tasting thing. This was my first experience at this restaurant I will try again but I will do a table seating and see how it goes. When the locals came in that bartender got turned up she gave them exactly what they wanted I wish I had that experience I was so bummed out. Hopefully my next review will be much better. There was no warm welcome here they just looked at me very funny because I had that brown skin I really felt that way. I'm hoping that the owner of this establishment looks at this review because I sent a review on Toast and have not received a response. And the upcharge on the vodka was...
Read moreIt was our first time. We were a walk-in of two on a Monday at around 6:30. We sat inside near the back patio entrance. The AC was blasting and I wish I brought a sweater. I guess if even the server staff are wearing warm clothes in summer I should layer up. Julie D was our server. She seemed really busy with tables at the patio and it took a while to get our order placed. We just got married but no one asked if we were celebrating anything and didn’t even get a smile throughout the entire evening from her. I wonder why she had tables both inside and outside as it seemed she was more attentive to the larger parties outside.
We ordered the garlic bread, ravioli, a burger, and a small pepperoni pizza.
We did receive our food (after about 30 mins of waiting) The garlic bread was like nothing I’ve ever had before. It tasted like mounds of freshly ground garlic plopped on top of toasted bread with melted cheese on top almost like a pizza. It was almost too spicy with the amount of garlic they used but, hey, if that’s your thing, enjoy. It wasn’t to my liking. It’s not normal garlic bread by any means. I wish they used roasted garlic.
The pizza, burger, and the ravioli were decent. We also ordered a side of the meatballs as well which came out lukewarm and even when we asked to heat it up, even then they weren’t that great.
I understand that Julie must have been overloaded but I’ve worked as a server before and I wish I had received better/more attentive service. The only time service was prompt was when we were paying the check. We noticed other servers asking tables if they were celebrating anything special but no one asked us. We were within eyesight every time she walked through the patio door and she never so much as looked in our direction. We did tip, but we felt neglected and I don’t think we will be...
