Visited this restaurant on Tuesday, June 8 at 5:30 PM. There were three of us. This is a restaurant where you order your meal at a counter and they give you a little table top tent with a number on it and deliver your food to you after you find a table. We all ordered within a minute of each other. Found a table and waited. 30 minutes went by and no food was delivered. So I went to the counter and ask what was happening. The girl said let me check came back and said it will be out shortly. Went back to the table waited another 15 minutes and finally one of our orders came to the table. Another 10 minutes goes by and neither of the other two orders arrive. So my friend goes to the counter and asks where the food is. Again they said it will be out shortly. About another five minutes and the second plate came. Now we wait another 10 minutes and the third plate hadn’t arrived. So I go back to the counter and ask to see a manager. The girl said she would get her. I stood there for a few minutes no manager showed up went back to the table and sat down. Finally a manager comes to the table and says what’s the problem? Didn’t say what can I help you with sir, or is there a problem sir, just what’s the problem? So we told her. Her response was what do you want me to do? Do you want your money back or I can have them put it on real quick. I told her I prefer to have my money back because by now my two friends were finished eating. So I gave her my receipt she comes back a few minutes later with my money hands it to me and says here you go. Didn’t say i’m sorry this happened, I apologize please give us another chance or anything like that. So I said OK thanks for my money back now I’m supposed to go away hungry is that correct? At that point one of my friends said he should be at least comped a meal. And she said well OK do you want one? I said yes please I think I’d like want to go. So she walks away and a few minutes later a young girl brings the meal over in a bag and set it on the table. And turned around and walked away. Didn’t offer any apology didn’t say please give us another chance nothing. I realize they are new but they have another restaurant it’s not like they’re new to the business. The situation was handled so unprofessionally I couldn’t believe it. We spent over $70 there and this situation was unbelievable. However I did eat the pork steak when I got home and I have to say it was very good. Even though the sides I ordered we’re not in the bag. Two completely different sides were in there. Since they are new we will give them another opportunity because as I said the food was good. I really think a restaurant should have a staff of servers you shouldn’t have to order your food then find a table and wait. But that isn’t that big a deal so will be back and see...
Read moreTried their pizza, the only thing we ordered. It was very good, comparable to IMO’s on its best day but better like Fortel’s.
We had the thin crust, it’s a very good traditional St. Louis crust, sauce was tangy. Tried the Nubber, recommend it, the garlic flavor was very prominent and worked well with the cheese, almost like a lovely little flatbread open ham sandwich.Might be interesting paired with an aioli dip of some type.
Had the House Favorite, a bacon cheeseburger pizza with pepperocini peppers that give it a little pickle flavor for your burger, it’s a touch spicy as well nothing that will offend grandma even don’t worry but it’s a nice punch. They throw some pepperoni on for good measure to remind you it’s a pizza.
Classic meat lovers can’t go wrong with that one. The restaurant utilized FULL SLICES OF BACON which is fabulous as that is a trademark of pizza in this city, it seems.
We were very satisfied with the pizza. It’s a little pricey but we like to pay a little more for quality pizza on special occasions so this is a nice new spot to hit up for that.
Interesting note about the menu: they have a LOT of different types of entrees. So one person can get barbecue, another person wings, Bob gets a big salad, Tom gets a sandwich, Alice gets a pizza. I imagine cooking or running inventory for this place is “fun.”

Read moreWe love this place! First time at Nubby's, we arrived mid-afternoon when traffic was light. Looking like a typical bar/restaurant, ambiance was low key and inviting. Server Sarah quickly arrived at our table with a smile, bringing our drinks and taking our food order in a quick minute. She was amazing, very friendly, patient, and attentive.
I was anxious to try the pastrami sandwich. Normally served on marble rye, I requested it hot (you can also order it cold) on their seeded french bread with provolone and grilled onions, added mustard at the table. My wife decided to try the pulled pork sandwich with a side of fries.
My pastrami sandwich was amazing, excellent quality meat on a perfectly buttered and grilled french loaf, it melted in my mouth. The fresh and hot onion rings were quite delicious as well.
My wife loved her pulled pork sandwich, a generous portion of superbly smoked pork with plenty of savory brown bits. I tried a bit of the pork myself and completely agree with her assessment. It was juicy and very flavorful with just the right amount of smoke. The fries were hot and crispy and perfectly seasoned.
We were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and service and, despite living more than 30 miles away, will definitely return. Highly...
