My family and I went here for Sunday brunch for Father’s Day, as we entered we were immediately greeted by Yaya (the manager) which made us feel very pleasant. Well that’s where the pleasantry ended, first the place was not busy so we were able chose our own seat which was nice. Our server JoJo was not welcoming at all but we did not let this ruin our morning. She took our drink order and she got that wrong that should have been a sign. There were only 4 of us! She then took our food order but she didn’t write anything down, so that meant she had to come ask us twice what we actually ordered. After waiting 20 minutes for our food, the order is wrong and she proceeds to tell us they did not have one of the menu items we ordered. AS WE ARE GETTING OUR FOOD!! She never apologizes just walks away. We had no silverware on the table and absolutely no condiments were offered to us. After speaking with the manager, Yaya, she apologized but made lame excuses as to the service. We were not offered any compensation only to take off what we did not receive (which is a no brainer). The ambience is amazing, but I will never dine here again. Totally ruined my husband’s...
Read moreIt had been over a year since we decided to give the terrace another try. The elevators were down to one working so it took 5 minutes just to go from 1st floor to 2nd floor (should have just taken the stairs).
We found a nice seat on the terrace looking out over the Christmas lights of the downtown Ocala Square. It's quite a beautiful perspective.
Unfortunately. It took several minutes to be even seen by a waitress. It was so long, I walked to the bar to get a wine list, so we could order when the server arrived. When she finally did arrive, we ordered two glasses of wine.
Fast forward another 10 minutes, we still hadn't received our drinks, no food menu, no water which is weird as there was only one patron at the bar, two Manager type people walking around, the server, and the bartender.
We bailed and went to Mark's, which was packed. We bailed, went to LA Cuisine which was also packed. We ended up at District and were extremely lucky to get two spots at the bar.
The Terrace has so much potential if only they showed a little bit of...
Read moreInitially, we thought this was a pretty good idea. Liked the balcony feel and everything looked nice. Then we sat down in the plastic little chair. Felt like they came from Walmart but they tried to fancy them up with fabric covers. Nice try but it doesn't work. The bar, high tops and couch is nice; however, the biggest surprise was the sticker shock.
We ordered two simple house drinks, which would normally be something offered during social hour. $6-$8 is an average price elsewhere but this place charged $14 per drink. Staff seemed nice but didnt really know what was going on. Also, they serve dinner in the lobby, yet they again charge an exorbitant price. I could eat at Mark's Prime for about the same cost it felt like.
Not feeling there will be a second trip to this location unless I am getting a free room...
