Oh how the mighty have fallen. I tried symmetry for the first time just over a year ago with my partner who used to go regularly to their old location in the hotel. My first experience was amazing there were so many specials and syrups to try. With each returning visit I’ve been more and more disappointed. They’ve cut back their menu, gotten lower quality syrups and cut back flavors and their espresso has been worse every time. Today was the final straw my partner wanted a ginger matcha so we came here against my better judgement. The second we walked in we were rushed and unable to look at the menu properly despite there being no customers behind us and standing a distance from the register. We ended up ordering two specials and a bagel as they didn’t have the ginger. My latte was supposed to have vanilla brown sugar and cinnamon on top and you could barely taste any syrup, no cinnamon on top and it was bitter and burnt tasting my partner had a strawberry matcha which tasted like strawberry milk and had no matcha flavor in sight. The bagel had the smallest layer of cream cheese and tastes like it came from a bag in the grocery store. The reason this is so disappointing is knowing how great this place used to be. I don’t like leaving negative reviews on local businesses and I love the atmosphere despite the dirty couches, the local artwork is lovely and a great way to help up and coming artists however I can’t get past the service and the products. For any people wanting to enjoy a nice coffee we personally love sipping grounds in midtown station, we’ve heard they’re owned by the same person however I’m not sure. They have a quality espresso, great service and an expansive selection. I would’ve gotten my refund if the employee was anywhere to be found so we just left and dumped...
Read moreThis is about your location inside HCA hospital. The guy that works there needs to realize he's serving people with sick family members and or friends inside the building. How about engaging in conversation when someone offers a compliment about your mural next to the cash register or asks if you actually make your sweet treats in house.
It's not difficult to keep a customer, it is very easy to lose one. Customer service is not difficult. Have some self awareness or find a job where you do not have to engage with the public.
Not a Symmetry problem. Have stopped in that location back to back days, won't be back. I'll go buy the lesser coffee from the hospitals other option across the lobby. The coffee is not as good but the woman at the register knows how to treat people.
In response to owner:
Thank you for responding.
I am not interested in being bought in exchange for a higher rating. How about fixing your customer service problem instead of offering me $20 in refunds and a gift card to come back for the same service?
I do not care that the hospitals other café has less than 5 star reviews. I went there once and had a pleasant experience with the lady that was working that day. That's how reviews work, they should be based upon individual experiences so the company may learn where they can grow.
We all have good days and bad days. When you receive the same cold service with your hot coffee on back to back days. I'll go ahead and say,...
Read moreMy wife and I visited there today and found the cappuccino to be "watery" because it was not made with whole milk. We were not asked what type of milk we would prefer. We've never had a cappuccino with anything but whole milk and were shocked and disappointed by the watery taste and consistency. The crepes and wraps were delicious but rather expensive. We don't live in Ocala and will not be in a hurry to return. We will be back because we love this type of coffee shop but will definitely remember to instruct them to make sure the cappuccinos are made with whole milk. When I asked the "barista" what kind of milk he used, he said, "2 percent." I told him we found the cappuccinos "watery" to which he responded, "we change up the milk" like they make them sometimes with whole milk and sometimes with 2% (and maybe sometimes skimmed milk). When you can make a cappuccino that consistently tastes as good as a cappuccino from ANY gas station along the Italian autostrada highway, then you...
