*UPDATE 7/27/2025: This is not at all the same place it used to be, which breaks my heart. The carnitas chimichanga is basically just rice and beans - which don’t belong in a chimichanga - and what little meat there is lacks flavor. My husband liked the shrimp tacos though.
UPDATE 8/13/2021: Name may have changed, but the food is still so good. So so good. Carnitas Chimichanga is probably my new favorite!
I’ve been coming to this little Mexican take out spot for the past three years, since reading a recommendation from Yelp. I have noticed no change in the quality of the food from this place - the pork carnitas are so flavorful and delicious. I’ve never seen unsafe food handling practices at this restaurant. Good stuff: The carne asada fajitas were cooked to order and very very tasty. My teenage son said his carnitas enchiladas were delicious. Each taco is still $2.50 - and two or three pork carnitas tacos is an entire meal. To me, this place can’t be beat on price, flavor, or convenience. The Not-So-Good Stuff: That being said, if you don’t want pork or steak, you may want to venture elsewhere. The chicken is not nearly as flavorful as the other meats at last check (a chimichanga two years ago), and I can’t speak to the ground or shredded beef. The rice is bland, but has always been bland, and serves as more of a mix-in as opposed to a dish in-and-of itself. At least you know it isn’t overly salted or unnaturally flavored. I love this place, and it perfectly hits the spot after several weekends of pizza...
Read moreBest Mexican food in Ocean City, Maryland. My brother and I went there for the first time today and we were blown away by how good the food was. He had a carnitas burrito and I had a carnitas bowl, and we split chips and guacamole. The food is fresh, very flavorful and the portions are great. While it is "more expensive," considering that we're in a resort town, the prices were very reasonable for the amount of food you're served. I highly recommend the chipotle sauce, it really took my bowl to the next level.
The style is more of a takeaway place than a restaurant. It's a counter you order at and there are two small fold out tables to eat at if you choose. You can see the kitchen when you order and the place is immaculate, it's clear the owner really cares about his business.
Finally, we were able to meet the owner today and he's a really nice guy. He clearly cares about the food and was happy to talk to us about how we liked everything. He was also saying that the food is authentic to the Northern Mexico/Texas region, and that he even uses recipes from his family. I live in Ocean City and will absolutely be coming back. You will not regret...
Read moreHoly cow, this is the best Mexican food we've had in OC since the old days of La Hacienda!
Ordered in person. It's laid out like a Chipotle, with all ingredients visible behind glass... good for deciding what looks fresh. We arrived 20 minutes before closing, yet everything was fresh!
Ordered a steak burrito and veggie burrito with custom add-ins, as well as nachos with chicken. Everything was as good as the best we've ever had. Comparing to Chipotle or Qdoba would be an insult; though it's nearly "fast casual," Tino's is on another level. I just finished eating the 2nd half of last night's burrito for lunch, and it was still so delicious I had to write this review.
Friendly folks, speedy and accurate service. The best food of its kind in the area, and probably far beyond. Prices are competitive for the area and really good considering the high quality, and the current state of the economy.
100% heading back here next time...
