Monmouth Clubhouse Deli — Restaurant in Ocean Township

Over the years we have enjoyed sandwiches from here for over 30+ years when the original Proprietor's first opened in the location where Hawk's Sub's was.

Before the Hauxhurst Family built a Brick Structure that replaced a old wooden structure along Highway #35 that was called Lou's Subs that was a favorite spot to get a very good sub sandwich during the early 1970's as a young teenager.

Today's visit at the West Park Avenue, Ocean Township location was the first time since April 2019 when Ralph and his brother still ran the place.

The new owners have been operating it for over 2 years when they purchased it from Ralph, who finally got his wish to move to the Carolina's..

They have kept the name and the same menu.

Kit and I decided to stop in for lunch after her Dentist Appointment.

She had a Garden Salad with Egg Salad and Balsamic Salad Dressing.

I had the Clubhouse Sub Special.

The sandwich was just as good and delicious like Ralph and his Brother made and Kit enjoyed her Salad Immensely.

Went back to Roadhouse after being away for 2 years because of COVID office closure.. I ordered a Pastrami on Rye with a bottle of soda and bag of chips…$16.50!!! Now y’know if we were talking about a long sub from that Jersey sub guy, that might warrant this price because you’re full and can’t possibly eat anything the rest of the day, but this was a SMALL sandwich… not even “overstuffed”!! Sorry, this is pushing the envelope on “price increase” cmon now. Deli sandwiches are all very similar in taste… I mean we are talking about cold cuts right? Very little difference from deli to deli. I won’t be back… sorry. If this is what it takes for me to “bring my own brown bagged lunch” then so be it.

Don’t cry about gas going to $4.00 and then pay $12 for a 5” sandwich that’s gone in...

Started a new job in the area and will be going at least once a week. I got a #5 combo: roast beef, turkey, cole slaw, and Russian dressing on rye + potato salad + pickles. Not only was the sandwich DELICIOUS it was HUGE, like a cow with two crackers on either side. I don't like potato salad but theirs is FANTASTIC along with pickles. $8 for what will be two relatively healthy and extremely delicious lunches! Also they have a 'buy 10 half subs get one free" punch card, too. The owners and workers are very friendly. I have no idea what "Meand u" is talking about with gloves.
