El Buen Pollo — Restaurant in Odessa

If you've never had the chicken from El Buen Pollo, you're missing out on quite possibly the best chicken in Odessa. Place sells whole and 1/2 chickens, char-grilled, and I know a lot of places use that term... but THIS place actually does it RIGHT, and better than probably 90% of all the chicken places here that claim to "char-grill to perfection". These guys deserve the title in that department. Chicken is the main star here (and mostly the only item heavily sold) a small menu but what they do, they do better than anyone else.

Also, be forewarned there may on some days be a bit of a language barrier (English/spanish) but shouldn't present an issue of youre not asking for anything to overly complicated.

Other than that, nice people, AMAAAAZING food, and the sides are... well.. decent to good. Not much wow-factor there, but they don't even NEED it because their chickens are downright...

This is the best place for roasted chicken on the west side. If you blink you might miss it like I almost did! I’m so glad I turned around for this small out of the way place. A little over $16 and I got a whole chicken, jalapeños, onions, salsa, hot corn tortillas, and seriously the best chicken I’ve had in a long time. Looking for roasted/rotisserie chicken and HEB was out and I am glad they were or I would not have found this place. It’s a small yellow and red building that you really would miss but trust me it is worth It. I guarantee you will love the fast service and the food is absolutely delicious. This place used to be good.. but recently the food quality has decreased big time. They made us wait for about 15 minutes they said the chicken was almost ready.. so when we got our food I was expecting fresh cooked food but surprisingly the food was actually cold and the chicken was overcooked, the rice was very smushy and also had a weird sour taste which makes me think it was spoiled so we didn't even tried to eat it!.. like I said this place used to be good I don't know what happened but I don't think I'll be eating there anymore!! try it at...
