First was the Chile con Asadero. Very runny for my taste but had good flavor and just a right amount of kick. Next was my plate of Tripitas. I asked for them to be medias (not crispy) they were undercooked still and very much so underflavored. I have never had to add salt to Tripas just to give it any flavor. Very disappointed in my meal to say the least. Sadly I will take it home, in hopes of fixing it myself. The Combination Plate was "sour" I can't fully describe the taste otherwise. We will not be taking this home to fix as something about it was just not right. The Service was as lacking as the flavor of the food. The server was nice enough to warn me that the rice had bell peppers (I'm allergic) so I got double beans. She never once asked how we were doing, how was the food or anything. We had to ask her to come by. I might understand had they been busy...she had 2 tables, US included. 2 people at each table. You would think that since I barely touched my food, she would ask why. She didn't. I used to come here a lot more often when I lived nearby and thought I should come again. With food and service like this, I don't see myself...

So today, 11-30-21, my husband and I when to esperanzas for caldo de res, which is beef soup. My husband had ordered and ask the waitress for extra meat. The waitress said she had to ask if that was possible. When the waitress came back she said that the owner had said we had to buy a whole new caldo (a whole new bowl). My husband said no thank you. When we got our caldo, my husband noticed there was no meat in his caldo and told the waitress they forgot his beef. When the waitress came back, the waitress said that the cooks had said WE had put my husbands beef in my bowl so we can get extra beef. Like we are asking for extra beef and pay for it. We didn’t want freeebees. And what got us even more mad is the fact that they accused us of doing such a thing. At this point I was done and walked out. My husband then went back in and told them they were wrong and wanted to speak to the manager, when all along he was speaking to the owner. No apology, no sympathetic we got nothing but accusations. Worst service from the owner ever. This place does not deserve a star I just had to rain it to...

My husband and I went to eat dinner and to see our favorite server Jennifer when we told Gaby that we would like to sit in Jennifer's section Gaby had told us that she was busy and that she would tend to us I was hesitant but what could I say, so Gaby took our order and that was it we didn't get refills we didn't get to go plates she only came to the table to bring us food and the ticket, she was constantly on her cell phone like glued to whatever was on the screen clearly we were not of importance to her when I saw Jennifer I asked her why she didn't take us and she said that she wasn't even told that we requested her, if I request to sit with an certain server I expect to sit with them unless they are not there I am very disappointed and I have never had such poor service. Plus In my opinion she should not be a server she can barely walk to the tables , she doesn’t know how to give good service because her phone is more important, and seems to struggle with the smallest of tasks. If you go to eat here do not sit with Gaby unless you want horrible...

I have eaten at this establishment since the early 90s and the food has always been great! Gabby and Jennifer are great waitresses and go out of their way to make sure you have a pleasant dinning experience. The only negative is the queso and I do believe it is out of a can. Other than that everything else is very flavorful! Changing my review from the above. The place has gone downhill since Jennifer left and I don't know what happened to Gabby. My last five visits have been lackluster. Two of the five I was served salsa that was watered down by 98%!!! Food prices have risen along with 5.00 tea and I believe $2 Waters. The waitress that had the unpleasant discourse to me made three of the 5 last visits horrible. I'll be going to La Bodega now for my lunches.

Service was not the best but not the worst. Food was mostly bad. Chips have a funky smell and taste. Rice and beans are ok. Chilaquiles and papas a la mex were horrible. Barbacoa was overhead like 2 or 3 times. The flour tortillas smell and taste nasty. Definitely not homemade. I will not be going back. The ac pipes leak water all over the place. Even on our table, and it seems like nobody cares. People are obviously not as concerned as I am because they keep going. Prices are too high for the quality of the food and location.
