Floyd Gwin Park — Attraction in Odessa

Great park. I used to spend a lot of time there in my youth playing basketball and football with some friends. I live in Midland now and it had been years since I visited this park. About a year ago my son was invited to play academy soccer with a group of kids in Odessa and we had our first practice at the park's soccer fields. When I was younger, these soccer fields were practically dirt with lines painted on them. I arrived assuming the worse and I was pleasantly surprised to see the fields in really good shape. It was impressive. We were just there again last week and the fields are still in excellent shape. Kudos to the city of Odessa and anyone else who helps maintain this park, especially the soccer fields. Midland has a lot of work to do as our fields look like...

Needs more maintence to keep up with trash on ground!!! Really love the new remodeled park! The kids love the structures. Baby swings are wonderful. Improvement could include opening up the restrooms. I cannot stress enough how many times our kids need to use bathrooms here in odessa and there are never open restrooms at parks. It's so frustrating. The other problem is this park gets lots of shady people or teens who wreck playground or block play structures. Maybe more monitoring...

Great park and perfect location for "FIX WEST TEXAS" that held a CAT spay/neuter clinic at the park. Great Group doing wonderful work. Poor cats are at the mercy of coyotes, foxes, dogs, other cats and hateful people. Fix West Texas is slowing the population of feral cats by neutering and returning the cats back to their territory.
