Gig's Tavern — Restaurant in Ogden

I only went here because of poker that was being hosted here. There was a charge my mom had last year that was excessive on her card, had to come in and speak with the owner and bring in our receipt to prove we didnt order what was actually charged. A lot of times I would walk up to the bar and get ignored so I would grab a friend and have them walk up, so I could get some service or sometimes just tell them what I want. I am not sure what a particular bartenders problem was with me. Clean the fans, Dustbunnys dropping in drinks is gross, people are using coasters to cover their drinks. Huge fly infestation, They even have a yellow tennis racket looking thing that zaps flies if you take the time to swat them. It can be hilarious when drunk people are doing it for fun but it concerns me for whoever they end up falling into. They get mad if you ask for your food in a to-go container to keep the flies off of your food. Sticky tables and chairs. Make sure you keep track of your charges as lastyear wasnt our only incident and I've friends that openly discuss the same issue. There are other things to do and other places to play poker. I was recently 86'd for nothing, I guess some excuse that I said something about another place that was completely true- not even the other place 86'd me. Ever heard of Freedom of Speech? plus driving 1/2 an hour to get paid out more than 3x as much and paying 1/2 as much for food is a lot more tempting. I only came here because of the people I knew as its a 1/2 hour drive for me to this location as well. Wow, just wow. Tyran should not be an employee there. I was a regular there until a few months ago. I'm so blown away by such unprofessionalism she and a few other of the bar tenders have recently shown. I came to support a friend one night and wore an outfit she (Tyran) didn't approve of and her boyfriend (my friend before they were dating) was talking to me and she has done nothing but boycott me to her groupie and made me feel more than extremely uncomfortable. The other staff was aware, the other regulars were aware and also the security was aware of her unprofessional attitude towards me because of an outfit I wore. I tip 50% or more and have always been a great patron, but no longer will I support this establishment. They need to make some serious staff changes. They leave messed up names on customers tabs on the reciepts and wow Linda, they are not good. I am seriously disappointed in your staff and I will not return or recommend anyone else to...

We decided to visit even after reading all the reviews. We had hoped they were untrue. This place does not care to bring in new customers. There is zero welcome to the atmosphere or by the "staff". But after reading the reviews I now believe that we were lucky to get table service, even if it was without the slightest bit of information or politeness. My souvlaki plate was $17 for one small stick of chicken, a scant cup of rice, and some salad mix. Hubby's burger was obv food service patty, nothing special. If you like signature cocktails and good food in a pleasant environment this is not it. If you only like beer or rum + Coke and you already know everybody, good for you, you're home.
