Makes Exercising you're Dog Better Your dog gets to do what pack animals love to do. They run at top speed, greet each other, chase, make new friends and after have a glowing dog smile. They can now sleep the afternoon without barking or exercise with you in a calmer and more obedient manner. Thank you to the person who picked up the poop someone else left. Thanks to the generous person who donated the kiddy pool. Thank you to the people who separated their dog when it got nippy. Sometimes the dogs sound a bit scary when they play but work it out and the experience is good. Lip back snarling and full fangs are not seen. We are very concerned to see that and will leave at least to another one of the 4 areas. Wheelchair access is not possible. If you use a wheelchair I don't know how you can do it. The double gates open outward, uneven surfaces and narrow to turn. I realize everyone has right to equal access so I hope someone who understands how you deal can make a new double door entry on slab. Maybe you won't scale the hill but most people hang near the gate so I hope that we can improve that problem. I really appreciate this place. My dog is big and and the little one likes to pull hard. My back and shoulders really like it. My...
Read moreThe dog park is pretty awesome. The creepy old guys who follow people around in and out of their cars all day long really should find a hobby or mind their own business. Been fishing next to the dog park too many times where the same 3 guys, have individually popped up right behind me and some have tried to just small talk/fire off random questions. Some of them have given me a jump scare where I have said "Man. You shouldn't just sneak up behind people like that, I was totally caught off guard" to which TWO SEPERATE MEN who were looking right at me, right next to me, no one else but us around, and they literally did not say anything in response. To which I left both times it happened and got in my car. Where I saw both of them(on separate occasions by themselves, not both of them together) get in their cars and then park next to or behind me until I left the whole park. This has happened over a year about 6 times. Through all seasons. If they were for the city, make them put decals on their vehicles. If they are just creep vets trying to relive their glory days, they should find somewhere more catered to their needs....like a psych ward....
Read moreThe park itself is a nice space and generally a good spot for dogs to get exercise. Most dog owners here understand that not every interaction between dogs is perfect, and usually people handle situations calmly.
Unfortunately, my recent visit was stressful because another owner reacted very aggressively when our dogs had a brief barking/snapping exchange. For context, I was actively using my dog’s recall remote (which she can hear and feel vibrate, and listens to 99% of the time), but even then I was unfairly cursed at and blamed.
These things can happen even with well-trained, friendly dogs, and usually the best approach is to stay calm and separate them-which is exactly what I did. It was really upsetting to be yelled at for keeping calm and in control. The park itself is good, but be aware that your experience can really depend on the other owners who happen to be...
