The service was awful. Being understaffed, I understand. Long wait times, I understand. The food taking an 75 minutes to come out is a stretch, but I understand that it happens.
Thirty minutes to be greeted by a server or bartender (because it happened to us at both the bar AND our table) is not okay. It takes 30 seconds to greet a table and let them know you see them and you're busy, but will be back soon. Our sides never making it to the table with our food and our beverages never making it to the table- that's just bad. Having us wait an hour and a half for outdoor before finally telling us that you won't be seating anymore tables outside and then putting 4 adult women smack dab in the middle of a small, boring dining room amongst several families with small children while the upstairs dining room with views and ambiance sits with only a handful of tables sat is WILD.
I worked on restaurants for the better part of two decades, so I understand the ball being dropped once or twice, but no part of the experience was good. The food was mediocre at best. The service is a total fail. The staff was unapologetic and unbothered by our annoyance and the obvious frustration of the tables around us. We spent a total of FOUR hours there, and only managed to be served two drinks each. The four hours was not due to our socializing, but to the amount of time we spent ignored, unserved, and waiting.
The two rounds of drinks that we finally managed to get were yummy. The view was nice. That is the only decent feedback I have for this place. They need to get a grip on how to run a restaurant, or they won't...
Read moreI visited this place on Saturday, July 5th for a night out and was impressed with the variety of items on both the food and drink menus. Given that it was a Saturday during a holiday weekend, I expected it to be crowded—and it was. Since they don’t take reservations, we waited about 25 minutes for an outdoor table, which was understandable.
While waiting, we sat at the indoor bar, but it took over 10 minutes just to get a drink. Once we were seated outside, we were pleasantly surprised to find a live band performing. The weather was perfect, but the music was so loud that we couldn’t hold a conversation, so we opted to move to a quieter table toward the back.
Unfortunately, it took almost an hour before our order was taken, and the food didn’t arrive until close to 9:00 PM. Given the crowd and clear understaffing, we managed our expectations. That said, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was lively and enjoyable.
The biggest downside was the women’s restroom—it had only two very small stalls, and I overheard several guests voicing their frustration.
The night ended on a high note when we learned there would be a fireworks display on the Ohio River at 10:00 PM. We stayed to watch, and it turned out to be a great way to celebrate the...
Read moreI rarely leave negative reviews, but our experience at Landing Casa Del Rio in New Richmond was appalling enough that others deserve a heads-up.
To start, there was a fly in my expensive drink and it took forever to get any service.
When the food finally arrived, things went from bad to worse. We ordered elote, expecting the classic street corn treat. Instead, we got something that looked and tasted like microwaved corn dumped on a plate with shredded cheese—no seasoning, no effort, and definitely no flavor.
We also asked specifically for no onions on the street tacos due to my boyfriend's allergy. Not only did the tacos arrive with onions, but the staff seemed completely indifferent to the risk. Food allergies are not optional suggestions, and this kind of neglect could be dangerous.
Everything we tried was bland, unseasoned, and lacked any of the bold flavors you'd expect from Mexican cuisine. It’s like someone skimmed a Taco Tuesday Pinterest board and gave up halfway through.
With painfully slow service, flavorless food, and disregard for a serious food allergy, this place is a hard pass. Save your money and your appetite—go literally...
