I hate to leave a bad review but this place was really bad . This was a little over a year ago so hopefully it’s improved but I wouldn’t try it again . The service was friendly though the waitress had a kind of deer-in-headlights vibe that was a little off putting . upon entering the restaurant , we were hit with an overwhelming smell of Mean Green or that Fabuloso cleaner . I mean STRONG. That was the first red flag . Obviously you want your restaurant clean but if you’re using that much cleaner there’s probably a problem . Despite this , the floor was extremely slippery and had a strange oil slick sort of coating over it !! We practically slide to our booth !! The interior was dark and had a very liminal , hotel California vibe to it which was off putting but intriguing . The decorations were cool and I kinda liked the weird vibe , a mix between Asian lanterns and Mexican sombreros and various related cultural ephemera . Low lighting and twinkly lights . Very odd and interesting menu items with large selection of sushi that had mexican influences . LOTS of sea food options but the strong cchemical cleaner smell dissuaded me from wanting any seafood . One of us ordered hibachi noodles and I will say those were really tasty . We also got tacos and elote and neither of those were good. Just , bad tasting, all around. The corn tasted kinda moldy and old , like the kernels were tough and the cotija cheese did not taste right either.. I don’t think it was actually cotija or it was just bad cotija , not sure . Chips were stale and the salsa was liquid . The worst part was that a small adolescent cockroach climbed out of my elote shortly after it was served, after I’d taken a few bites. It crawled around the edge of the dish while my disbelief set in and then I squished it with my napkin and quietly showed my dining partner . We did not finish our food, paid, and left . Our waitress seemed to be a little confused why we didn’t finish our food but we just said we had an emergency and needed to go . I’ve never experienced something like this before and we probably should have said something but we just wanted to leave after the bug incident . I’m sure lots of places I love to eat at have roaches but if you have young ones climbing out of your served food during the day time , there’s a...
Read moreReally mixed feelings on this place. The hibachi was great and the chicken was tender and juicy. the salsa and queso tasted fresh and delicious.
The California roll was absolutely disgusting. We stupidly didn’t read the Description which is on us, we just assumed that it would be the same simple ingredients as every California roll I’ve ever had haha but it was made with this wet, super thick rice with cream cheese, raw shrimp and Avacado. It was straight up nasty. The gyoza were not gyoza either. They had spring roll mix inside and were jut gyoza shaped.
We were also served a full avacado pit in our guacamole. It was in one of those little sauce shot glasses. I literally don’t know how you didn’t notice you served the Avacado pit, first because the container was so small that you would have HAD to seen it get put in. Second because HOW do you accidentally leave the pit in when making the guac? Like did you guys do that on purpose or did someone truly just not notice? It was shocking.
Our waitress was nice but she just wasn’t paying much attention. First we asked for more chips and salsa, she didn’t bring it till like 20 min after we asked. she waited then she brought the chips at same time as the first entree. Secondly, We had a table of 3 but she brought one persons entree WAY before everyone else so by the time he was done eating the two other dinners were just coming out. Two people asked for to-go containers for sauce but instead she brought one pastiche bag and one container for sauce. She did a great job keeping the waters and pops full though and she was very nice!
I honestly might get take out from this place again but I can’t see myself coming back to...
Read moreWe have found our new favorite Mexican restaurant! I ordered a fajita quesadilla. It was HUGE and had a very generous amount of grilled chicken, green peppers and onions. It was covered with the perfect amount of queso and accompanied by delicious rice and salad. Their pico was well seasoned and very fresh. My daughter ordered the Mexibachi steak tacos. They were filled to the brim with perfectly cooked steak and fresh pico de gallo. My daughter usually doesn’t like pico because the Tomatoes are too squishy. Not today! Just perfect! My daughter ordered hibachi noodles instead of rice and they were cooked in the same delicious sauce as the steak. My daughter took one bite and said “WE MUST come back here more often!” Also, for parents of younger kids who might not love Mexican food as much as we parents, they have French fries on the appetizer menu AND they have KETCHUP BOTTLES not PACKETS! That’s a game changer for our family! We definitely will be back and it won’t just be for the food. From the moment we walked in the door we were greeted and treated warmly. Our server Jose’ was so personable, friendly and FUN! Give this amazing place a try. You’ll probably see...
