A group of us wanted to get together for lunch, someplace fairly quiet so we didn't have to compete with a lot of noise and overly loud music. Shawnee Station is a great place to visit where the atmosphere is perfect for older patrons who struggle with hearing issues, and we had a couple of such gentlemen in our party.
It often seems that the service is slow at the restaurant, even when the tables are mostly empty, and during this most recent experience, our server didn't check on us very often. On the plus side, the food arrived without a terribly long delay and it was delicious, but I was never offered a refill on my coffee, and the last swig from my mug resulted in a mouthful of coffee grounds - very unpleasant.
When the tickets came, most of them were wrong, so that had to be sorted out, and those who paid in cash had to wait nearly 15 minutes for their change.
I'm not certain if additional wait staff is the solution, but sometimes it does seem like having just one additional person could help serve the customers better. Currently, getting in/out during the lunch hour within a reasonable amount of time is...
Read moreThis place was absolutely delicious. My brother had told me to try the pork tenderloin. Man oh man am I glad I did. It was seriously the best tenderloin I’ve ever had. It was thick, with a nice amount of meat. Definitely not one of those flat all breading types. This one was flavorful and meaty. The bun was soft, and the toppings were fresh. I had pickles and ketchup, my dad had the works. The sandwiches are served with house made chips and a pickle, or you can upgrade the sides. We have upgraded. I had the tater tots. He had the fries with a side of hotdog chili sauce. The hotdog sauce was bean free and meaty as well. Had a nice flavor. The tenderloins were so big, we both took over half of ours home to-go. Definitely a great value for the money. We came on a weekday during the day, and the crowd was tame. But this is a full bar so I’m sure some nights are busier and louder than others. The server we had was dynamite. She new the menu well. Was cheerful and prompt. Definitely a well seasoned waitress. This place does not disappoint. I would highly recommend it to absolutely everyone....
Read moreMy Grandma & I visited Shawnee Station Sunday October 16th around 11 o’clock. You can absolutely tell this was a freshly opened business. Their menus were paper (not that big of a deal), their drinks were bottled pop with a side of ice, and their plates paper plates. They don’t do meals here, it’s strictly À la carte, so my Grandma and I ordered some onion ring, chicken tenders & fries. When they brought our food out, our waitress never offered us a plate. Our waitress never got us silverware. My Grandma & I sat there and ate off of NAPKINS because she didn’t bring anything out for us to eat off of! The waitress SEEN we were eating off of napkins and just continued on her way. I took the left over chicken tenders home to my fiancé, and even HE said the food tasted gross.
If you visit Shawnee Station - I promise their food does not taste good, the staff is friendly - although they will neglect...
