Sugar Showcase — Restaurant in Ohio

I was first introduced to Sugar Showcase as a child when my mom would go there to get molds for the chocolates she would make and cake pans for all the amazing cakes she would make for my birthday. She would always let me pick out one of those pure sugar things that they had so obviously this place held a certain place in my heart since I was a youth lol.

When my wife and I were planning our wedding we went to Sugar Showcase for our wedding cake. They took the time to sit down with us, tell us what flavors they recommended to get with the ones that we had like and walked us through the process making it as easy as they could of. The result - an amazing wedding cake that was not only beautiful but tasty as well!

Since our wedding we have started to go to their events (pretty sure we were the first adults to show up with no kids but we were just fine with that!). We've been able to build memories decorating cupcakes, cookies, sugar skulls and even caramel apples! In January of 2016 we had our beautiful little girl and we were able to share our now "tradition" with her and soon she'll be looking forward to the days we walk through that door, wash our hands, put on that apron and get to decorating! Thank you so much for the previous memories you have shared with us and the ones we will make in the future! The employees have always treated us with respect and I absolutely love that they are willing to help not only the kids but the adults as well that want to dabble...

We were planning on using this company for our wedding and that was a monumental mistake. After putting a down payment to reserve a wedding date for a cake, we tried about 8 different cakes which were all awful and tasted exactly the same. Then we had to postpone a year due to covid-19. We downsized the wedding and we decided to see if we could go with a different option like cookies or something like that. The woman we talked to assured us that wouldn't be a problem and that all we had to do was call two weeks before the wedding to confirm the details.

Well, we did as she instructed and now she is claiming that the contract says we have to get their cake or lose the down payment. Not only did she lie to us last year about using the down payment for a different option, but she was easily the most condescending, rude, and nasty person I've ever had to deal with in retail. Her blatant disrespectful and unprofessional attitude actually took me aback.

It saddens me to write this review but I am hoping that it will prevent others from being subjected to the blatant disrespect and poor service that my partner and I...

After having a poor experience with another local wedding cake baker, we happened to find Sugar Showcase online and I'm super thankful that we did! They have a incredible amount of options as far as flavors goes. At first, when I looked at pictures of their work, I thought they only worked with fondant but it turns out that they're super talented at making their buttercream frosting super smooth! We could instantly tell when sitting down for our first meeting that the woman knew exactly what she was talking about. She knew precisely how much cake we would need, factoring in things like how we also had a cookie table, how alcohol was being served as that affects how many sweets people will eat, and how many guests were coming. She was right on the dot on how much cake we needed so I really feel like she was genuinely not trying to oversell us on portions when other bakers would have easily taken advantage. They took great care in delivering the cake and did a great job with the decorations. (Finally updated the picture and would like to add that this cake still tasted amazing on our 1-year...
