Do yourself a favor and drive right by this place. We were just out for a drive and stopped here because of the positive reviews. First , know that they do not take credit or debit cards. It is a good thing that we had cash. We saw no signs saying that until we went up to the register to pay and found out . It looked a little sketchy from the outside but we thought "oh what the heck" . Waitress was not friendly, ok, not that important. I have never been to a restaurant that does not give you a salad with an entree, Ok, whatever. The food arrives , we ordered a haddock dinner and chix parm. the plates were barely bigger than a salad plate. i paid 12.50 for a piece of chicken and approx 1/2 cup of penne . the chix was ok, but the sauce was not good. they brought my husband 1 small piece of fish, the one end that was thicker was fine , but the other end was very overcooked. We paid 12.00 for one skinny piece of fish and some hash browns. Who serves fish with no cole slaw but ok. we ordered french bread pizza since the bread was homeade. it was virtually inedible and we left most of it uneaten, it was that bad. waitress never offered to refill our beverages. we paid 33.00 for a very poor quality and overpriced meal. OK. What i could not overlook is the fact that these waitresses were scraping dirty dishes into the bin , touching someone elses dirty plates and silverware and they did not have on gloves, nor did they wash or sanitize their hands. That is disgusting and totally unacceptable. I wish that we would have bypassed this place. I cant for the life of me figure out why it got good reviews , other than it is in a really bad neighborhood and the people who eat there do not know any better. If you want good quality food in a clean , nice atmosphere, keep driving...
Read moreI have a child with a disability. Yes we came in for a late dinner, because of a late lunch. Haven’t been in for a year or so. We did go in years ago every week or two with the whole family. But busy lives led to not going as much and covid. Sam would of been so disappointed of treatment of patrons tonight. It took us awhile to figure out what we wanted, initially as I said my son with a disability couldn’t figure out what he wanted. Took about 10 minutes. In that time, the waitress came over atleast 4 times are you ready.Which we were not, but we did a rushed decision on our order. Obviously, felt pushed. She was very unpleasant and rude. Then obviously a man came in,probably husband ,boyfriend sat right in front of us. Then at that point the whole kitchen staff was staring at some points at us. Although the food was always good. When we received it, couldn’t really concentrate on our food. The one waitress, came over who which was very kind knew obviously the circumstances. Which she was not our waitress. At that point never saw our waitress again, after we ordered. I was vocal on her rudeness at our table.that we were rushed. Obviously our waitress just wanted out of there tonight, which I get. But that being said, I have worked with the public, and boy this girl should not work the public. Businesses closing every where in our small towns. Just put a smile on, if you don’t want to be there then don’t. Sadly...
Read moreFood USED to be the most delicious food in town when owner Sam was still there. 😇 People that moved away, made this place a definite place eat when they returned to visit family or friends. For Oil City residents, it was a meeting place for ALL to enjoy great food and some good laughs. Sam knew a lot of people by name. If he didn't know your name, he knew your parents. If he didn't know your parents names, he knew your aunts & uncles or grandparents. He made EVERYONE feel welcome!!!!!! NOW, I'll talk about the current situation. I moved back to Oil City a year ago. I have given them chance after chance to show that their food is even close to the way it used to be. First it was the uncooked pizza dough. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and went back. Got pizza the second visit & the dough was uncooked again. I then remembered how good their meatball subs were so on my next visit, that's what I ordered. Either someone can't make meatballs OR someone spilled an entire shaker of pepper into the meat before they cooked it - I took one bite & threw it out. I actually was upset I didn't just order the half baked pizza. SO SORRY that the quality of the food has gone so far downhill, but it's not a surprise if you take a look around. Waitresses act as though you're bothering them when you come into the place - I kinda feel like I'm showing up to a party I wasn't invited to. Im done wasting my money on bad food &...
