The place looks cute. It was bustling and my daughter and I were excited to try it. Everything was great until I paid for the order at the counter and was to receive $5 and change from my $20 bill. I was asked if I wanted five ones instead of a single bill. Now, I know she was looking for a tip, but she she was a counter worker not a waitress. I resent, deeply resent, being shaken down for tips like that, but I accepted the ones and left a tip in the cup. I just wanted a couple of good coffees to enjoy outside with my daughter on a nice morning. My daughter’s iced latte was, and I wish I was kidding, undrinkable. The taste was sour but not like sour milk, it’s hard to explain but it was exceedingly unpleasant. My cold brew was at least drinkable but was more like flavored milk, it tasted nothing like coffee. Read moreWonderful staff that is both professional and kind. I was given a compliment before I even reached the counter. I had the frozen latte with caramel and an everything bagel with cream cheese. When you reach for the door handle, there is a rainbow flag that includes the Transgender colors and says, "All are welcome." This has particular appeal to me being transgender in an East Coast city I know nothing about. It's like a little island of safety in a world that wants to cast me aside a lot of the time. Read moreI can’t recommend this place enough. The food, the drinks, the ambience. Woods and River has quickly established itself as one of the gems of Oil City. I love the fact that they source a lot of their ingredients locally. The previous coffee shop that resides here never seemed to truly find it’s identity, however it’s clear to see that this coffee shop has. They have tons of vegan and vegetarian friendly options, as well as food for those with other dietary restrictions. I always make a point to stop here when passing through the area! 10/10
Edit: I think it’s super important to visit here routinely! The menu is constantly changing with daily items. Today I had the Turkey, Bacon Swiss Bagel! Absolutely delicious. The soup was a kielbasa pierogi from...
