Jimmy's Round-Up Cafe & Fried Pies — Restaurant in Oklahoma City

I’ve thought long and hard about leaving this review. I’m a fairly demanding customer I admit. But I’m very fair. I always am polite and always, always leave a good tip. But I expect to be treated kindly and attentively. A couple of years ago my wife and I came in at 7:30pm, 30 minutes before they closed. We were there for a glass of tea. We weren’t eating. We were seated by Katt (manager), and then received the most disgusting cussing out loud by Jasmine (waitress). She was upset because we came in 30 minutes b4 closing. She started yelling and cussing towards us but wouldn’t look at us. We had no prior interaction with her. Katt got in trouble and nothing was ever said to us. We’ve been eating in there 2/3 times a week since about2010 or longer. I had another incident last year where Cindy felt the need to come to me very rudely, telling me the toilet seat in the bathroom goes down when finished. And recently we were in there to eat and the waitress (Hispanic-late 30’s I guess-heavy set) never waited on us, even after I got her attention. After about 30 more minutes I asked her if we can get service. Obviously I wasn’t happy. She got offended and got another waitress to wait on us. Well I felt bad and asked the waitress to apologize as I felt I was short with her. She said the waitress didn’t want to hear it. I felt bad but had to respect that. We came in on May11 or 12 I can’t remember for sure, and as the hostess sat us she loudly says “I don’t wait on them”. I told her that wasn’t necessary. We went to another section. My reasons for not addressing this with management is that they knew about the first and second incidents and didn’t address it. I guess as long as I spend my money in there it’s ok? Now don’t misunderstand and think I just dislike the staff and complain. I’ve been eating there for 15 years or more. The staff generally works hard. Cooks are very good as food is usually fresh and hot. There are some excellent waitresses like Rayma,, Virginia, Leona, Alley, and Ruby. I’m sure I’m forgetting some. But Jasmine and Cindy are rude and should be reprimanded. I don’t hold out hope it will ever happen though. Again the food is good. Wait staff are good. Atmosphere is good. I’m sure not everyone has encountered what I have. Just my personal experience. It’s unacceptable behavior but apparently it’s allowed. I’m not looking to be a problem. I just have held onto this not wanting to complain. But to encounter attitude every other time I spend my money in there seems unreasonable. I have been here many times before and it's usually pretty good. But when I went today it took a long time for our server to come to the table. And when we gave her our order which was a barbecue burger and a bacon cheddar burger. On the menu the bacon cheddar burger says it comes with mayonnaise so I tell the server I don't want mayonnaise on my burger. We get our food because the reason we got two different burgers is we were going to share with each other because we couldn't decide which Burger we wanted. So as my daughter and I split the burgers I noticed on the bacon cheddar burger they had put mustard on it. So I was thinking no big deal I'll just eat it without the bun that has mustard on it. well,after I take a couple bites I noticed I'm tasting mustard I'll be damned if they put mustard on both sides and it wasn't noticeable because it was blended in with the cheese. And I didn't even complain or throw a fit to the waitress I let her know at the end and she was like well I thought since you didn't want mayonnaise you said mustard which I never said because I always eat my burgers plain besides the barbecue. Didn't get offered to replace the burger or take it off the ticket. And not to mention she didn't even come to our table to ask if we need anything, or to ask the food was okay. by the time we were done eating we had been waiting for refills on our drinks and she took forever doing that too and had the nerve to say hey would you like me to bring you a cup and it's like no cuz you're going to take forever to bring me the cup. So this time was very disappointing to me. But I do want to say in the past I've never had these issues up until today. Also I forgot to mention even though it was around 5:00 p.m. 5:30 p.m. it wasn't busy at all so it wasn't like it was because they were busy. I don't know what was...

I have no idea how they haven't put del rancho out of business..that's what my wife said and I couldn't agree more. We got a full order of chicken fried steak to share and it was plenty of food to eat. Mash potatoes I didn't get to eat too much of because of the portion size but as you can see from the 5 star review it didn't bother me that much..I just really like mash potatoes. For the taste per dollar I don't think we can do any better than here..

The ranch for our salad was some of the best dressing we ever had. I would probably make an extra stop just to get dressing here if I was getting buffalo wings(or anything you dunk in ranch dressing)

We need to talk about their rolls and cinnamon butter..I don't know what they do differently with their butter but to say it's D̷e̷v̷i̷n̷e̷ omnipotent is not an exaggeration. Seriously can't put my finger on what's different but it can't be something as simple as they just add more sugar to it. It's like the butter was super fresh and homemade. I'd even recommend it to someone who "doesn't like cinnamon butter anywhere" We called in our order ahead of time and picked it up togo but the atmosphere in the restaurant makes me want to come back and dine in. Not what you would expect in the area it's located in. Feels like eating at Granny's place back in the day(if your granny lived out closer to the country). Very nice.

If I could give one piece of advice it's to spend a little more on the plastic wear for those who can't dine in. Again I can't even bring myself to rate the place 4 stars because of this but the plastic wear definitely didn't handle the food very well.

Can't wait till we decide on Jimmy's for dinner(or maybe breakfast) again ..
