I don't have a lot to add that hasn't already been said, except that not only is the food at Tacos San Pedro fantastic, it's also unique in relation to other Mexican restaurants in the OKC area. Mexico is a very large country, and there are so many regional cuisines shaped by locale and tradition, that to say "Mexican food" is like saying "American food": Are you referring to clam chowder and crab cakes that originated in the coastal northeast? Or are you referring to barbecue? And if you're referring to barbecue, do you mean tomato-based recipes from Oklahoma/Texas? Or to vinegar-based barbecue from the Carolinas and Georgia? Anyway, back to my point. I don't know which Mexican cuisines are served at Taco San Pedro, (Or maybe the food there represents someone's personal approach to preparing Mexican food), but it's unlike anything I've had in Oklahoma City's Mexican restaurants, and I think I've probably tried the majority of them numerous times. And it is very, very delicious - one of the best Mexican restaurants in town. There are a couple of other's that those who want a change from Tex-Mex should try: Chalo's Tacos on the southwest corner of NW 50th and Rockwell, and of course, Ted's Cafe Escondido on NW 58th just east of May Ave. (There's slao one on the south side but I haven't tried it.). I don't know if he's still running Ted's but as of a few years ago the manager (he might be the owner, I'm not sure) was Kenny Loggin's road manager before entering the restaurant business. I'm not sure why I threw that in but I just thought it was interesting. Anyway,...
Read moreOn the south side where you've got many GOOD options, Tacos San Pedro is an easy stand out. They take pride in making food that makes you happy. They even have good queso!
I could easily talk about how satisfying a torta or a quesadilla is but I think their Rice & Beans is a great example of a simple meal being made with love. The best part though? The portions are generous so you'll always feel like you got your money's worth.
The atmosphere is nice. The seating arrangements are spacious even if you've got a big friend group with you. The music over the speaker is lively so if you want to sit and vibe by yourself, I'm glad to say you can do that too.

Read moreAs a latino, this is my last choice when it comes to eating out. Not authentic to those who say it is. I've given it a chance a over 5 times and its just disappointment after disappointment every time. If it's not the steak having too much fat. It's them getting angry at me for them not listening to my order and charging me twice for something I didn't order. People who like this place haven't had real Mexican food. And to add on to all of that, we got food poisoning from the food we did eat the last time we went. Don't recommend. From further inspection I also noticed most of their reviews are not even legit. They must get their...
