Has the be the Best place in the city for Tacos!!! A must have is the Carne Asada. Hands down one of my favorites. It's best to go on Tuesday or Friday as they will have sales but I not sure if the Carne Asada is ever on sale.. So get the Carnitas cilantro and onion. Don't mind paying the price for the quality as it is tops. I have never ordered a "Meal" however I have many friends who like other items on their menu as well, I can only tell you about the tacos. Salsa Verde is great and the Pico is on point, it's the perfect amount of spicy. The Rojo sauce is also a must if you like real authentic Tacos. My teen was amazed when I took him here. I told him it was the closest think in KC i found to where I grew up (So Cal). This location also has the extensive Mexican pastry shelf... don't forget to stop and get fresh flower tortillas on your way home if you want to up your Mexican Hamade game. The inside reminds me of my childhood but if you are looking for a Johnson county Typical Mexican Experience, this isn't for you. This is for they ones that know that tacos are eaten along with a soda in a bottle... My personal Favorite soda with Tacos is Orange Jarritos in the bottle. They keep the sodas at the register in Ice, the way the Lord...

First of all It bothers me to give this review because I am a fan of Bonito Michoacan.

It is mixed emotions.

I ordered 2 dozen tamales. I was excited to see that each of them were stuffed thick. I brought these to a party. Before I did, I took one out and ate it. It was very flavorful. The pork was tender and moist. I thought the balance of masa to meat was way off . too much masa.

I still was happy with the meat and couldn't wait to bring it to the party. two trays were served but the first tray was only a 1/3 gone. I them took two and one only had masa absolutely no meat. the second one only had bell peppersin them. I'm very disappointed. today I took two out and warmed them and found the same thing no Meat And over stuffed with masa! I paid$23.99 per dozen, a little over $50 with tax and I can't be certain that there are any pork tamales left in my tray.

Lesson learned be specific and order Pork tamales only. I hope the rest of my leftover tamales are pork or I will feel like I was ripped off. Paying $23.99 per dozen and getting 2 strips of a red or green bell pepper is not...

Came in for dollar tacos and was first told it was Asada only, then that it was 5 different meats that the lady pointed at, but didn't identify any of. Attempted to order 12 Asada tacos and was told it was going to be $1.79 each, was then told at the register they were $2.29 each which is what I ended up being charged. The older woman making tortillas was terribly rude from the start. There were two other women working as well but when asked anything would just reply "I don't know" and the one actually walked off multiple times while I was trying to speak to her. Our 12 Asada tacos ended up being 5 tacos of 3 meats, (we didn't make this call the lady did) the woman making them didn't seem to care about anything other than throwing them together and moving on to the next person. Upon opening the bag we found loose limes bouncing around the bag and a sauce container that was split open. Extremely poor customer service and the simple fact the price changed three times for the same thing from order to paying is a joke. Finding great tacos is something we enjoy, but this place...

This place is so close to 5 stars, only because I had to eat my tacos while trying to keep warm. But man, that food warms you up fast. Snagged their weekend-only menudo – rich, peppery broth with tripe so tender it could convert a hater. I ate a small bit there and saved the rest for Sunday’s hangover, after stuffing my face with the most tender lengua tacos, just beefy velvet on fresh tortillas. Tripa had that golden crisp I chase at food trucks but rarely find indoors. Craving authentic Mexican food in KC? Bonito Michoacan might just be the metro’s best-kept secret.

This was my time here. We came as we heard the tacos were the best in Kansas City. For me, the hunt for the best Taco in KC is still on. The restaurant section was very dirty. We had to ask for a table - any table- to be would clean. The tacos were meh. Nothing special. The beans and rice the same. The grocery section is interesting as is the meat. For those looking for authentic Mexican grocery this is probably as close to the boarder as you’ll get in KC. My husband plans to go back— without this Chica.
