We came in to 4 workers, on Christmas night, and there was only 4 people eating at the bar and a 2 booth. Every single other table was nasty and the floor, we sat there and waited cause we were hungry, and finally another worker , tall guy came and clocked in cleaned our table, so we sat down. Then this same guy looks at our server, small lady Stephanie and says this guy has been sitting her 3 in a half minutes you should have taken his order. And bless her ❤️, she didn't realize I'm southern and not a mid westerner. I'm also a biker wife and from our parts we do not speak at women like that. So I spoke up and simply stated, that we waited for 10 min for our tables to be cleaned then we sat down and was waiting for our order to be taken, we saw the waitress was a little overwhelmed and now embarrassed because of the way he spoke to her in front of customers. But he takes the guys order is rude to her, meanwhile we are still sitting here while I get madder, this guy gets his food first. Then another server, had a guy walk up to place a to go order, and she stopped what she was doing to take his order. Meanwhile we were still waiting for her to clean a table or something, but the togo ordwr was out the door also, before we sat down. And we told our server, it was ok and we are fine. She remained very professional throughout the entire service. It was a stressful day for everyone. The other server didn't deserve to be spoke to like that. We traveled from GA to Kansas and I've never given waffle house a bad review, but for this to be the only one in Kansas, come on guys please represent Waffle House correctly. The cooks need to be retrained. Scrambled eggs over cooked and brown, waffles dark brown , sausage very light. Toast was even over cooked. And the hashbrowns were so crispy I thought I had potato sticks. Ridiculous I don't recommend anything from there, it's all...
Read moreWhat a rotten place to eat. The shades were so dark I couldn't tell if they were open. When I went in there was only one person in the place, and she was sitting at the far side of the dining area. I said, "are they open". She said yes, and explained to me how hot the sun is, she was sitting down because it was hot, and that is why the shades are so dark.
I sat down and she wanted a minute. I told her no rush. Turns out I was wrong. She wanted my drink order and really would like food order right now..... She stood by the end of the table almost pacing to get the order. I asked three times about the Steak and Eggs. I wanted to be sure it was the T-bone steak and eggs, the menu doesn't specify, and you can't tell from the picture. When I ordered it I made another comment after telling her I wanted the T-bone steak and eggs just to be sure we were communicating. She then put the check on the table so I could "take care of it". She was really anxious to go sit back down... The only time I saw her was when she dropped off the food and brought me my change. I had to catch the cooks eye to get more to drink.
When my food arrived it was a sirloin steak. All I said was, "that's an odd looking T-bone", and she started tellling me how that is the only thing that comes with eggs. She kept going on about how it was my mistake because that is the only steak you can get with eggs. Finally I said I'd really rather eat and not argue with you, but I would like a customer service number. She told me I could have the number to the store, but Waffle House doesn't have customer service.... boy was she right, at least at the Olathe location...
The poor girl that was cooking is was trying to cook, and she was having to fill drinks and make apologies for Danielle's bad service. There is no way my son and I should have to put up with that...
Read moreDavid and Cassie transformed our humble visit to Waffle House into a gastronomic experience worthy of the highest praise. As we entered, the duo was in perfect harmony—David at the grill, meticulously crafting each dish, and Cassie gracefully tending to every table with a blend of warmth and professionalism. It felt as though we had stepped into a secret, elevated dining room disguised as a classic roadside eatery.
We began with chocolate chip waffles, a dish that, in their hands, became a work of art. The waffles were perfectly crisp on the outside, yet soft and airy inside, with pockets of melted chocolate that added a rich, decadent touch. Each bite was balanced in sweetness, showcasing an attention to detail that is often reserved for Michelin-starred desserts. This was not just breakfast; this was a masterclass in how simplicity, when done with precision, can be utterly divine.
Next came the savory elements, where David’s expertise truly shone. The bacon was a revelation crispy, yet tender, with just the right amount of smoky flavor to complement the richness of the sausage patties. Speaking of the sausage, each bite offered a perfect blend of spices, expertly cooked to achieve a crisp exterior while remaining juicy inside. Every element on the plate felt intentionally crafted to highlight the beauty of classic breakfast fare.
The grits were the final surprise, an often-overlooked side that David elevated to something remarkable. Creamy and smooth, with just the right hint of butter, the grits were the perfect counterpart to the richer elements of the meal. Cassie’s attentive service ensured that each plate arrived piping hot, and her genuine enthusiasm added to the entire experience. Together, David and Cassie created a breakfast that was far more than the sum of its parts an unforgettable feast that...
