Pizza Shoppe — Restaurant in Olathe

Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced at Pizza Shoppe on Ridgeview in Olathe, KS I’ve been eating here 30 years and will NEVER step foot in this establishment again! My salad had old wilted lettuce I had my daughter take it up to the counter and asked them to take it back since it tasted so horrible and Castle the employee stuck his bare hand in the bowl and ate a bite out of it said it tasted fine and tried to bring it to our table and hand it back to me and was so rude he made my 13 year old daughter cry. He refused to let me talk to a manager or take it off of my bill for a salad I couldn’t eat! Stated I would need to call tomorrow but that his manager won’t care because the food was fine and he won’t care what I have to say. Pizza Shoppe has gone down hill ever since it was sold but today is the final straw for our family. The restaurant was not very clean, the bathroom was awful and overall completely unprofessional customer service and horrible experience! I will be calling the store manager tomorrow but with as horrible of an establishment this is I won’t be surprised if it yields no results! I’d also like to mention that in addition to being extremely rude and disrespectful to me in front of my five young children.. he then got on the phone and was talking bad about me in front of me and then was talking bad about me in front of me and my children and other customers with the other employees. Castle was a disrespectful employee with a horrible attitude. When I said he needed to have better customer service he essentially laughed in my face. No matter what he thinks the salad tasted like to him I could clearly see the old lettuce and it tasted horrible I tried several bites.. Ordered pizza for carryout. Put their own tip on the card. Will never order from here again. The tipping system is designed to pay servers, who make way less than even minimum wage, who serve you when you are DINING IN. Tips are the biggest part of their paycheck. You're tipping them for their personal service of you WHEN YOU ARE A CUSTOMER IN THE RESTAURANT! Then COVID happened and restaurants started asking for tips for everything because their business tapered off. Now we've got businesses doing things like this thinking they're entitled to tips for anything they do. You charge a certain amount for an entree in your restaurant, you're charging for the ingredients, the preparing of that food item by your chefs/cooks, incidental expenses of the restaurant such as management, advertising, even the tiny hourly amount you pay the wait staff. If I'm calling in an order and picking it up myself, you do not have to use wait staff to take care of me. You haven't gone over and above the normal preparation of the food, hence there being no need for a tip. What am I tipping you for, ringing up my bill? I'm sure there will be some snowflakes who will blast me and accuse me of being insensitive or whatever, but I worked as a waiter back when I was younger. If your restaurant isn't making ends meet, it means you're not monitoring your costs and not calculating them correctly and charging enough for your product. Terrible experience. Waited 35 minutes for our pizza. They messed up our order. After finally getting it, It was still wrong. They forgot my refill. Even served other people drinks..and once I finally got it..it was still wrong. No one would wait on us. The Alfredo sauce was forgotten with the breadsticks. It was cold once we got it. I had to get up and ask for that too. We asked for boxes to take home and we were forgotten again. I had to get up and go to the counter and ask for them. They actually gave us a pizza box to take home a salad..two other customers were there so it wasn't like they were super busy . We asked for the manager, and he never came. So finally I had to get up again and go to the counter asking for the manager . Someone claimed to be and offered a 25 percent discount..for a 45 dollar dinner didn't seem enough for the poor service. He said that's all he could do. They then told us to go to their website to complain and I am certainly going to. I Will never go to this establishment again. Rude !! Worst service ever! I could not believe...
