My coworkers and I visit Sip frequently and have a lovely time each time we go! The wine is amazing and the cheese options even better (though I admittedly love cheese above all else).
The staff is always friendly and willing to answer questions. The owner, Derrick, is always interesting in hearing what we think or offering selection suggestions. I usually go for a flight which consists of three 2oz pours...I pick two and then ask for a recommendation for the third. Nine times out of ten his recommendation is my favorite (and it's the second favorite for that last time).
Whether you are a wine connoisseur or just dipping a toe into the world of wines, Sip Wine Bar is the place to go. And if you like horseradish, I highly recommend you get the horseradish-cheddar spread as your side for the charcuterie board, you will not be disappointed.

Read moreSip Wine Bar is an absolute gem in Old Saybrook! What truly sets this place apart is Derrik, a certified Sommelier who doesnât just pour wineâhe curates an experience. From the moment you walk in, he engages with you to understand your preferences and guide you through the selections in a way thatâs personal, thoughtful, and incredibly knowledgeable.
I especially love that he offers reserve wines you can tryâsomething you donât often find in most wine bars. His pairing suggestions for meats and cheeses are spot-on and really elevate the tasting. The menu is beautifully laid out, making it easy to explore and discover new favorites.
Whether you're a seasoned wine lover or just beginning your journey, Sip is a place where youâll feel welcomed, educated, and taken care of. A true pleasure to have in the heart of...
Read moreA cute little spot! We just stopped by to have a quick drink before a long drive home. I tried all the rosĂ© wines. I loved the sparkling Cava rosĂ©. They have a great method of keeping the wines stable with argon gas. I loved the variety of seating available in here. They have those cute Parisian looking outdoor chairs, a long nice booth and cute arm chairs on a more private side. Accessible restroom that also had an up to date calendar of events in the area. A nice neighborhood spot to check out to sample fine wines. I liked the flight option the most. The cost was pretty similar to have one glass vs to try a lot of options. I love trying a few instead of being stuck with just one! Nicole was very helpful and sweet. Itâs located in like a plaza and has...
