Sip Wine Bar — Restaurant in Old Saybrook

My coworkers and I visit Sip frequently and have a lovely time each time we go! The wine is amazing and the cheese options even better (though I admittedly love cheese above all else).

The staff is always friendly and willing to answer questions. The owner, Derrick, is always interesting in hearing what we think or offering selection suggestions. I usually go for a flight which consists of three 2oz pours...I pick two and then ask for a recommendation for the third. Nine times out of ten his recommendation is my favorite (and it's the second favorite for that last time).

Whether you are a wine connoisseur or just dipping a toe into the world of wines, Sip Wine Bar is the place to go. And if you like horseradish, I highly recommend you get the horseradish-cheddar spread as your side for the charcuterie board, you will not be disappointed.

I especially love that he offers reserve wines you can try—something you don’t often find in most wine bars. His pairing suggestions for meats and cheeses are spot-on and really elevate the tasting. The menu is beautifully laid out, making it easy to explore and discover new favorites.

A cute little spot! We just stopped by to have a quick drink before a long drive home. I tried all the rosé wines. I loved the sparkling Cava rosé. They have a great method of keeping the wines stable with argon gas. I loved the variety of seating available in here. They have those cute Parisian looking outdoor chairs, a long nice booth and cute arm chairs on a more private side. Accessible restroom that also had an up to date calendar of events in the area.
