Mi Rancho Mexican Restaurant seemed like it was going to be a hit right from the start. The place has a super inviting feel with all its bright colors and the kind of upbeat Mexican tunes that make you want to tap your feet. The staff were all smiles when I walked in, which definitely gave off a good first impression.
Now, let's talk about the food because that's what we're all here for, right? Here's where things got a bit rocky. My order got mixed up, which, hey, happens to the best of us. No big deal, I thought. I flagged down one of the friendly staff, expecting a quick fix or at least some sort of "let's make this right" gesture. But the response was pretty much a nonchalant "oh ok..." and then nothing. No correction, no "let me fix that for you," nada. Just left with the wrong dish and a bit of disappointment... not even a, "let me discount that for you..."
I was really rooting for Mi Rancho, especially after such a warm welcome. But the way the mix-up was handled (or not handled) kinda threw off the whole vibe. I mean, a simple mistake is one thing, but not making an effort to sort it out? That's where it stings a bit.
In the end, I'm glad I tried it out, but I'm not sure I'd go back. It's not just about getting the order right; it's about how places deal with those inevitable slip-ups that show they really care about their customers. A bit of a letdown, to be honest, because everything else had the makings of a great...
Read moreWe have been regulars of this restaurant since it opened. Our first meal there was delicious and we went back several times, all to terrific meals. A few months ago, we had a dine in order that was mediocre. Chicken overcooked, half fried chimichanga, stale chips. We just thought we caught on a bad day, so then did a take out a few weeks later. Again, mediocre. Then last night, when I had such a taste for what used to be very good, we gave it one more try. It was unacceptable. The chips were so greasy and tasteless. Grease dripping through the bag. My chimichanga was soggy and barely fried, rice was tasteless. Daughter had a quesadilla that had dried oily chicken and also dripping in grease. Guacamole totally lacked flavor and the fajitas were average. It breaks my heart to write this review as we loved this place. Now will...
Read moreI ordered carry out. When I walked in I waited 5 minutes before anyone even approached me. I ordered 3 hard tacos. The shells must have been months old. They were as chewy as gum. Inedible. I also ordered beans and rice. The beans were ice cold. It was clear that I was served beans that have been sitting for hours if not days. I took one bite and realized they were incredibly old and going to make me sick. The rice was the same. Ridiculously cold. They are serving extremely old food. My entire meal went into the garbage. The board of health may want to look Into this place before someone gets very ill. I will never go there again unless I want to get...
