China Wok Buffet — Restaurant in Olney

In Olney, there are Two Chinese Buffet Restaurants, each with it's own Character. China Wok Buffet is often overlooked due to it's location and it's easy to miss as it lacks the Exposure of being in a Mall.

While not as busy as China Capital across Town, China Wok has been a fixture in Richland County for nearly a Generation and still maintains it's Reputation for offering a variety of Lovingly prepared dishes to their Loyal Customers and Newcomers alike.

One thing I will always remember is the time I visited and heard a piano being played... not up in the Dining Room... it's music seemed to come from a hidden room. I asked the Hostess who was playing it, and she explained that it was her son was practicing and learning Music Appreciation.

That was about 10 years ago as I recall, and during my last visit during Lunch, I inquired about her son and if he was continuing his Music Education.

As it turned out, she said he had completed the Music Course long ago... and was now studying Engineering at the University of Illinois at Champaign/Urbana... she misses him but yet is proud of his dedication to his Studies, and I couldn't be more proud of him as an Admirer myself!

I can still remember him as a young boy, receiving Customers as they arrived in China Wok and escorting them to be seated... and then clearing and bussing tables in preparation for the next patrons to arrive...

That young boy isn't escorting Customers in China Wok anymore...nor is he bussing tables...His Mother still is. She is so Humble and so kind in her Heart... and also Wise... I believe that in Mandarin she might be called "Wei Lin"...

... and the Man who will become an Engineer is Blessed to have his Mother's Love and Guidance, just as much as the Patrons of China Wok may still be Touched by her Grace and Carriage as she Serves us.

Hands down our favorite restaurant! They have never disappointed us. We like to order takeout since that is easier than eating out for our family and because that’s the only way to get their delicious tofu (bean curd home style dish). They are always super generous with their portions and I love their combo of veggies and how many vegetables they give versus the other popular restaurant in town. The food is not under seasoned or overly seasoned. Always hot and fresh! They have no problems making substitutions with sauces or putting sauces on the side, they are very accommodating! I also love how careful they are in packing the food so that there are no leaks/messes. They use very nice takeout containers. Olney is so blessed to have this wonderful family serving us! We always order the same food. Today we didn't get what we ordered. I called and they hung up on me ..4 times. Didn't care to discuss it they said. Tried the I can hear you trick. Instead if trying to resolve the issue of today's mistake she went back thru my OLD orders of a tear ago. SO DISSATISFIED WITH THESE PEOPLE. . You made a mistake with our order but instead of trying to resolve it she was worried about our order over a year ago. WONT RETURN TO THIS RESTAURANT. Awful...
