This place is a prison. The only sports bar in the world that can't change channels.
Now I understand if the place is packed and certain sound to a game is on cool, I get it. When you have a whole side of the bar that has 3 yes 3 tables watching sports all wanting to watch the same game and get told we can't change the channel, why? Not only did I ask the server who was polite about the whole thing, I asked the manager who was ripping the signs down under the TVS that had what games would be on that TV. This was the rudest "sports bar manager" ever telling me " WE DON'T DO THAT HERE, YOU KNOW WHERE YOU SAT, MOVE TO ANOTHER TABLE WITH YOUR GAME ON IT". No problem I would love to, buuuuut ohhhh wait you didn't have the game on the tv. The defending super bowl champs are not on a TV, can someone explain that me.
Not to mention I had a $200 tab. No problem I can close it and go to Clancy's right down the street and get treated better and get better food.
So here is the long of the short. This place has mediocre food at best. Nothing is made by them, it should just be called US foods outlet. So if you like soggy chip nachos and dry burgers this is the place for you. DJS has been going down hill for awhile and will continue to do so.
Only plus is the TV situation if you can watch your game.
This place is joke, take your money elsewhere.
Also noticed they only reply to the "good reviews"...
Read moreThis was one of the absolute worst experiences in my life. Every single thing I ordered was disgusting. My drink was made wrong, my food was cooked in nasty old oil (that both my waitress and the manager told me was why my food was gross). The service was some of the worst I’ve ever seen. Barely busy and we had to wait 15 minutes before someone even came by to take drink orders. Multiple lies from both servers and the manager, from one person saying she can serve alcohol when she couldn’t, to the manager telling me he didn’t know he was out of something when he admitted he knew 30 minutes prior. Somehow, our ticket was about $20 more than what it should have been, but after being asked to leave after telling the manager it was unacceptable to continue serving fried food when they knew their old was bad. The sheer incompetence of every person working that I interacted with. Two of four meals were inedible and it was a hassle to get them removed from our ticket- even after the food I didn’t even touch was taken away before anyone had started eating. The fact that Omaha can vote this place as the “#1 Sport’s Bar in Omaha” is astonishing. There are really worse sports bars in Omaha? I’d...
Read moreWhen the manager responds to the question of “Are you the manager?” With “Unfortunately…” that says a lot right from the start. A group of us frequent the Welch Plaza location during the week, and it is growing consistently worse. In terms of service, and quality. There are many times that we will wait 15-20 minutes for service, only to be told that the kitchen is closed. At 9:45. We’ve been waiting 15 minutes. You read that right. The staff regularly gets orders wrong, regularly forgets items on orders, and appears indifferent to the mistake. There also is little effort on part Of servers to actually “serve” anyone. They’re seen hanging around the bar, chatting and seem put out to get anyone a beer. I’ve sat with an empty beer for a half hour, only to go to the bar and be informed that last call was 10 minutes ago. At 10:00. Last call? 10:00? That’s when the kitchen was supposed to close… oh wait. That’s right. It’s simply a staffing issue… Not sure what’s changed, or why. However, it’s a change that the entire group will make. We won’t be back. Chance after chance given and it continues to decline. Bums me out, because it used to be so good. All things change in...
